We wish you a warm welcome to Gothenburg and to “Sahlgrenska Breast Reconstruction Symposium”. This symposium is designed to provide the surgeon with techniques and solutions to improve patient outcomes in breast reconstruction. The symposium will be organized by Sahlgrenska Universitetssjukhuset with Keynote Speaker Professor Alberto Rancati. The meeting will be held over three days covering oncoplastic, reconstruction and contralateral breast- and aesthetic surgery and quality of life. During our program, we offer discussions with Professor Alberto Rancati and the rest of the speakers, where the toughest cases from the audience will be presented, and various techniques and approaches discussed. Professor Alberto Rancati is a world renowned educator and the Director of The Plastic Surgery Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is also the Director of the Surgery Department and Chief Division of Oncoplastic Surgery at the Instituto Oncologico Henry Moore in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In addition, he is the Director of the Plastic Surgery Program for Latin America CFS at the University of California, San Diego (USA) in the Center for the Future of Surgery. He has published numerous articles that have gained recognition around the world, and has received awards of distinction for his contributions and research in the area of plastic surgery and reconstruction. Professor Alberto Rancati provides training in implant selection, measurement surgical technique, avoiding complications and rotation in anatomical implants, mastopexy with implants, rupture, methodology in moving from round to anatomical implants, and communication techniques for dealing with difficult patients.
