Introduction and Background

1.1

Southway Housing Trust aims to provide the highest possible standard of service. It does this either directly or indirectly (via other housing and/or support and care organisations) to meet the wider range of housing support and care needs in the communities in which it works. In this context Southway is committed to ensuring that it takes into account the specific needs of different groups of its residents when considering the range and quality of service it provides.

1.2

In recent years there has been increasing concern nationally about the safety and welfare of children and of adults at risk. This policy has been developed with reference to Manchester City Council’s safeguarding guidance and the good practice drawn from other social housing provider policies.
