Please note: All strips are cut across the width of fabric (WOF) from selvage to selvage edge. WOF= Width of Fabric • LOF = Length of Fabric Fabric A (3027-88 Patch – Red) • (1) 21 ½” x 28 ½” strip.

Fabric B (3032-07 Mini Wheels – White) • (4) 1 ¾” x WOF strips. Sew strips together, end to end with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 1 ¾” x 60” strips. • (3) 1 ¾” x WOF strips. Sew strips together, end to end with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 1 ¾” x 55 ½” strips. • (3) 1 ¾” x WOF strips. Fabric I (3029-46 Bubble Characters – Lime) • (1) 6 ½” x WOF strip, sub-cut (2) 6 ½” squares.

Fabric J (3030-77 Stripe – Royal) • (3) 1 ¾” x WOF strips. Sew strips together, end to end with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 1 ¾” x 57 ½” strips. • (3) 1 ¾” x WOF strips. Sew strips together, end to end with diagonal seams, and cut (2) 1 ¾” x 53” strips. Backing (3028-07 Tossed Animals – White) • (2) 63” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together and trim to 63” x 70” for the back.

Sewing

Sew using a ¼” seam allowance with right sides together (RST) unless otherwise indicated. Always press towards the darker fabric while assembling, unless otherwise noted by the arrows.

Block Assembly

1. Place (1) 3 ⅞” Fabric E square on top of (1) 3 ⅞” Fabric B square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 1). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 1). Cut the two squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 2) to make two EB units (Fig. 3). Trim the EB units to measure 3 ½” square. Repeat to make (8) EB units total. make 8

2. Sew the (4) EB units together to make (1) EB-pinwheel block (Fig. 4). Repeat to make a second EBpinwheel block. make 2

3. Repeat Steps 1-2 using (4) 3 ⅞” Fabric F squares and (4) 3 ⅞” Fabric B squares to make (2) FB-pinwheel blocks (Fig. 5).

4. Repeat Steps 1-2 using (4) 3 ⅞” Fabric C squares and (4) 3 ⅞” Fabric B squares to make (2) CB-pinwheel blocks (Fig. 6). make 2

5. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 28 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the 21 ½” x 28 ½” Fabric A strip. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 24” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A strip to make the center block (Fig. 7).

6. Sew (1) 1” x 31” Fabric C strip to each side of the center block. Sew (1) 1” x 25” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the center block (Fig. 8).

7. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 32” Fabric D strip to each side of the center block. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 29” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the center block (Fig. 9). 8. Sew (1) 1” x 36” Fabric C strip to each side of the center block. Sew (1) 1” x 30” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the center block (Fig. 10).

9. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 37” Fabric B strip to each side of the center block. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 32 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the center block (Fig. 11).

10. Sew (1) CB-pinwheel block, (1) 6 ½” Fabric H square, (1) 6 ½” Fabric I square, (1) 6 ½” Fabric G square and (5) 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric B strips together to make (1) strip. Sew this strip to the left side of the center block. Sew (1) 6 ½” Fabric G square, (1) 6 ½” fabric D square, (1) 6 ½” Fabric H square, (1) CB-pinwheel block and (5) 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric B strips together to make (1) strip. Sew this strip to the right side of the center block (Fig. 12).

11. Sew (1) EB-pinwheel block, (1) FB–pinwheel block, (1) 6 ½” Fabric G square, (1) 6 ½” Fabric H square, (1) 6 ½” Fabric I square and (4) 4” x 6 ½” Fabric B strips together to make (1) strip. Sew this strip to the top of the center block. Sew (1) 6 ½” Fabric D square, (1) 6 ½” Fabric H square, (1) 6 ½” Fabric G square, (1) FB-pinwheel block, (1) EBpinwheel block and (4) 4” x 6 ½” Fabric B strips together to make (1) strip. Sew this strip to the bottom of the center block to make the quilt top (Fig. 13).

12. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 51 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 47” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top (Fig. 14).

13. Sew (1) 1” x 54” Fabric C strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 1” x 48” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top (Fig. 15).

14. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 55” Fabric B strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 50 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top (Fig. 16).

15. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 57 ½” Fabric J strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 53” Fabric J strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top (Fig. 17).

16. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 60” Fabric B strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 55 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top (Fig. 18).

Layering, Quilting and Finishing

17. Press the quilt top and 63” x 70” backing well. Layer backing (wrong side up), batting, pressed quilt top (right side up) and baste. Quilt as desired and trim excess batting and backing when quilting is complete.

Binding

18. Cut the ends of the (6) Fabric F binding strips at a 45-degree angle and sew end to end to make (1) continuous piece of binding. Fold in half lengthwise and press wrong sides together.

19. Sew the binding to the front of the quilt, raw edges together. Turn the folded edge to the back, and hand stitch in place.
