The 2014 Winter Gala was a huge success! Thank you to the many donors, patrons, bidders, and volunteers who made this event such a great one! There is no official number on the amount made, but it looks like it’s going to be our best Gala yet! We’ve been doing this for 14 years, and many of the patrons and donors have been supporting us since the beginning…our deep appreciation goes to each of you! You mean more to our school than you know. To our dedicated parents who worked so hard with this event, thank you…to our former parents who continue to support SHS, we are so grateful…to our religious, we are blessed to have your prayers and support.

On Saturday, April 12, 2014, Bishop Michael Mulvey will celebrate a Diocesan Confirmation Mass at the Corpus Christi Cathedral at 12:00 p.m. for adults who have not been Confirmed. The celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation will be for: Catholics who are at least 18 years old and who have received Baptism and First Holy Communion and have not yet received Confirmation If interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation, please contact: Sr. Jude Janecek by February 16th to register for this special program.

National Catholic Schools Week wrapped up at SHS on Friday after events like the Religion Bowl, the Spelling Bee, parent visitations and Grandparents’ Day. On Friday it was great to see many of our benefactors and volunteers at our Annual Appreciation Mass and Breakfast. The Talent Show followed the Breakfast and the students were “alive” with excitement as they performed and/or watched other students perform the various acts. Then in the afternoon Fr. Joseph Lopez came and spoke with our students about Religious Vocations. We began the week with the All School Mass and ended it by thinking about our students’ futures and the possibility of consecrated life…all in all, it’s been a great week at Sacred Heart School!
