MONODUR®-NYLON (PA) Nylon screen and filter fabrics are highly resistant to both neutral and alkali substances. Resistance to abrasion and mechanical strain, along with resistance to many chemicals, are the outstanding characteristics of this material.

MONODUR®-NYLON (PA) is recommended for use in the following applications: Temperature for continuous operation: 212°F (100 °C) Chemical resistance: Neutral or alkali pH 7-14 Depending on type of Product being handled. MONODUR®-NYLON (PA) light made with filaments of especially fine diameter, designed for applications that involve low levels of mechanical strain, but very high levels of required flow rate (e. g. blood filters, oil filters). MONODUR®-NYLON (PA) normal is a range of mesh material with a filament diameter and weave type selected to ensure, with an optimum open mesh surface, high levels of mesh strength (non-slip) and maximum service life.

MONODUR®-NYLON (PA) heavy duty is a specially developed mesh scale with a large filament diameter, designed to guarantee a long service life.

The synthetic filaments used are so resistant to corrosion that MONODUR® in many cases not only matches the performance of stainless steel in terms of strength, but also exceeds it. Our superfine woven material – with a mesh size as small as 30 μ – is particularly suitable for microfiltration. Unless otherwise indicated, all these woven materials are heat-set – i. e. temperature-stabilized.

MONODUR®-POLYESTER (PES) Polyester is resistant to acids at normal temperatures. The special characteristics of the material ensure maximum resistance to distortion with minimum elongation.

MONODUR®-PES is recommended for use in the following applications: Temperature for continuous operation: 305°F (150 °C) Chemical resistance: Neutral to acid pH 1-7 Should not be exposed for prolonged periods to high levels of air moisture accompanied by heat (e. g. water vapor) MONODUR®-PES normal MONODUR®-PES heavy duty The details given for the corresponding Nylon items also apply to both of these types of woven material. MONODUR®-Polyethylene (PE) MONODUR®-Polypropylene (PP) These fiber types, which are known as “Polyolefine”, are only produced in relatively large diameters. This places certain limits on the range of available materials. Provided that the mechanical and thermal conditions allow it, these fabrics have good chemical resistance across the entire range of pH values. They are recommended for use under the following operating conditions: Permitted temperature for continuous operation: 158°F (70 °C) Chemical resistance: Good resistance to acid and alkali substances (pH 1-14) Special attention is given to applications involving high levels of physical strain.
