Unit 2: Poetry across time Exam 1 hr 15 mins (35%) Section A: Poetry cluster from the Anthology Students answer one question, from a choice of two, on the poetry cluster they have studied. The question will ask candidates to compare a named poem with another poem, chosen by the candidate, from the cluster.

Controlled Assessment (25%) Students complete one Controlled Assessment task which asks them to make links between a play from Shakespeare and any other text, of any genre, from the English (or Welsh or Irish) Literary Heritage

Section B: Responding to an unseen poem Students are given one compulsory unseen poem. There will be a different poem on each tier. Or Units 4 and 5 Unit 4: Approaching Shakespeare and the English Literary Heritage Exam 1 hr 30 mins (35%)

Unit 5: Exploring poetry Controlled Assessment (25%)

Students complete one Controlled Assessment task which asks them to make links between a range of poems which must cover contemporary poetry and poetry from the English (or Welsh or Irish) Literary Heritage. Poems from the AQA Anthology Section B: Prose from the English Literary Moon on the Tides may be used for this Heritage unit. Students answer one essay question from a choice of two on the set text they have studied Section A: Shakespeare Students answer one question from a choice of two on the Shakespeare set text they have studied. The question will be in two parts.

This unit will test through structured questions the reading of two non-fiction texts.
