WE KNOW YOUR BUSINESS Shoemaker, stay at your last is a famous saying. In the case of ROOTS one could come up with ‘garment maker stay at your pattern’, or in plain language: ‘Stick to your area of competence’. Old-fashioned craftsmanship at the

At ROOTS we realize that a happy wearer is important, but buyers and HSE managers also need to have this conviction of value for money and maximum safety.

Apart from all the other features that make this footwear special as described on pages 4 and 5, the extra properties for the welding boots are: • Reinforced counter for extra support and durability • All stitching made of Kevlar®, for ROOTS an obvious choice. The advantages of Kevlar® over ‘normal’ polyester yarn: - Kevlar® starts to decompose at 800°C, whereas polyester starts at 485°C - Kevlar® does not melt. - Kevlar® is resistant to most acids and bases - Kevlar® has a good abrasion resistance and an excellent performance against aging • The positioning of the leather is inverted in order to release molten metal easier from the boot.

All ROOTS footwear in this catalogue has been designed to meet the highest industry standards. In fact, with the PU/rubber range we wanted to go the extra yard for getting the product on the level where ROOTS wishes to be, which is right on the top. One of the unique selling points f.i. being the directly injected inner sole of this range. The welding boot is a fine result of that challenge we put on ourselves; no compromises!

Product profile: Schoeller-Keprotec® is made using only the highest quality materials. For example, this fabric also contains Kevlar®, an aramide fiber which is 5 times stronger than steel. Using the most modern production technology. The various components are processed to a fabric construction which ensures extreme tear resistance, highest rub-proofing and perfect heat-friction resistance.

the demand for dexterity is crucial we have a mechanic glove on offer to fulfil that purpose. This glove fits like a second skin and gives maximum flexibility. Even to such an extent that it could be worn as an under-glove, which can be a solution if companies seek impact protection, but wish to keep the existing glove range. Article number

The level of impact protection! The existence of life for an impact glove is the fact that they need to resist the impact. At this moment there is no test for impact gloves in the EU, which means that there is absolutely no guideline for quality for the level of ‘impact’ protection.

At ROOTS we cannot believe in selling anything without proper testing. We did test the impact of our gloves in accordance with EN13594: 2002 clause 6.8.2 Impact testing. Although this is not a test for work gloves, this is a test for motorcycle gloves, testing the same property: the level of impact. The ROOTS gloves are tested accordingly in order to provide reassurance to the wearers.

At ROOTS we believe that most of the impact gloves on offer are absolutely unfit for the demanding line of work. Many of our customers get in contact with chemical fluids, or o.b.m. (oil based mud) for instance. These wearers simply need a dipped nitrile glove with impact protection.

This black nitrile glove represents the best we can offer in terms of
