CHRISTMAS eve 1881

It’s Christmas Eve 1881. The staff are preparing the Castle for the family’s Christmas celebrations. Under the butler’s direction the Great Hall table is laid, the silver is polished, the candles and fires are lit, the decorations are in place and the kitchen is a hive of activity. Come and enjoy the tales of the staff and see the Castle decorated in grand Victorian style.

There are a limited number of places each day for groups to visit the Castle for this popular event. Set in the courtyard decorated with illuminated trees is the award winning Castle Gift Shop offering a wide selection of gifts for family and friends. Walker’s House Restaurant, with waitress service, offers a selection of delicious festive dishes created from locally sourced produce.

CHRISTMAS GROUP BOOKING INFORMATION 2014

Thank you for requesting a group visit information pack for Rockingham Castle’s Christmas opening. These notes are designed to make the organiser’s life easier and to enable your party to have the best possible visit.

Group Rates

Dates and Times

Admission charges for a private guided tour of the Castle: Adults £9.00 To qualify as a group, parties must consist of 20 visitors or more. Parties of less than 20 are welcome but there is a minimum charge of £180.

Whenever you choose to come, do make sure you are pre-booked. As soon as you have decided upon the date of your visit please telephone the office to confirm availability. Your provisional booking will be held for one month, subject to confirmation when you return your completed booking form.

On Arrival When your party arrives at the Castle ask the driver to stop outside the Towers to drop you off. Please remain on the coach to enable a member of the Castle staff to welcome you. A coach park, which will be pointed out to you, is situated just below the Castle.

Castle Gift Shop Do allow some time to take a look at our acclaimed Gift Shop, offering gifts for all ages and Christmas decorations.

Catering We have an excellent licensed restaurant, Walker’s House, where we offer a range of options, as set out on the booking form. Please be aware that Walker’s House will only be open if catering is booked in advance for private guided tours.

Booking and Payment It is essential that you complete and return the booking form as soon as possible to confirm your visit, even if you have made a verbal booking. When you complete and return your booking form do ensure you enclose a nonrefundable deposit of £5 for every person and this will be deducted from your final bill. Organisers must arrange for the balance of entrance fees and all catering to be fully paid at least four weeks prior to your visit taking place (we accept debit/credit cards or cheques, made payable to ‘Rockingham Castle Estates’). We must have your final numbers no less than four weeks prior to your visit, however, all prebooked catering must be paid for.
