Day One Introduction to Risk Based Internal Auditing • What is RBIA and what does it mean in practice? • Overview of principles and guidance • The stages of Risk Based Internal Auditing • Driving forces for change. • Refocusing the Audit role to embrace Risk

Providing Assurance On Risk Management

Course Synopsis Risk based internal auditing and assessment of risk requires internal audit to be strategically and operationally linked to the business risk and assurance frameworks. How does this relate to internal auditors going about their day today business? The approach can only be truly effective if everyone in the team understands what they are providing assurance on, the skills required to deliver a risk-based approach and how they fit into the wider assurance framework. The course highlights the modern approach to audit and considers the risk of losses to an organization.

Course Objectives Upon completion you will be able to: • Explain the key concepts of Risk Based Internal Auditing • Appreciate the links between risk management framework and each stage of risk based Internal auditing • Recognise the elements that contribute towards the risk maturity of an organisation. • Understand how internal audit fits into the wider assurance framework • Appreciate how a risk based internal audit plan is developed • Understand how to plan, deliver and report on internal audit assignments using a risk based methodology •Consider the skills and competencies required to deliver risk based internal auditing. • Apply a risk based methodology to internal audit assignments • Provide meaningful assurance statements to your audit committee

Location, Venue & Course Dates This is a two - day programme running from the 19th – 20th June 2014. A certificate of completion is granted on successful completion of the Risk Based Internal Auditing Course.

Course Details Bim Osunsami BA Hons, FCCA, ACA, CMIIA An alumnus of the prestigious London Guildhall University, London., a fellow of the Association of Chartered & Certified Accountants (ACCA), member of Institute of Chartered Accountant Nigeria (ICAN) and a Chartered Internal Auditor with Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in the UK. Bim is a seasoned Trainer and Speaker, with varied experiences training delegates from various Ministries, Departments & Agencies of Federal Government in Nigeria such as, Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, Ministry of Power and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Within the private sector, she’s worked in several industries including but not limited to Pharmaceuticals, Construction, Public Sector, Telecommunications and Financial Services. Her varied background includes management, effective customer service delivery, audit, accountancy, corporate governance, financial controls and systems. As a training consultant she develops and presents personal development and finance programmes to directors and managers from all industry sectors. Her passion for dissemination and sharing of knowledge has also led her to an educational career at London Southbank University, London, where she presently lectures within the Faculty of Business.

Mrs Ajibola Rotimi – FCA, FCMA, CGMA A qualified accountant with over 20 years’ experience as a senior Finance executive within the Finance industry both locally and internationally (UK and Nigeria) Ms Rotimi began her career in practice working with BDO before eventually moving into industry and Financial Services holding senior positions within Royal Mail, Bank of Ireland, Lehman Brothers and Close Brothers Asset Management. Her responsibilities covered all aspects of Finance from Planning/Budgeting to Regulatory Reporting, Risk, Financial Control and Procurement. She is currently the CEO of Capworth Consulting Limited. A company specialising in bespoke training and capacity building with a focus on emerging markets. Ms Rotimi has a well-rounded experience in Training development, programme design and delivery having in 1994 founded AR and Associates Limited, a company specialising in delivering bespoke training and Management development programmes. Mrs Rotimi teaches Accounting, Financial management, Leadership and Risk management courses.
