INTRODUCTION
The BACD supports the initiatives on Responsible Care and asked an external partner to audit their checklist on site at their members.
SGS is beneath an associated member of BACD a professional and independant inspection, and certification institution, which has the qualifications to perform these audits.

PROJECT 1. Responsible Care Audits The audits can be performed stand alone, only on the basis of the checklist. The audits can easily be combined with existing certification standards. They have many points in common with most current certifcation standards. When audited together time needed for RC can be reduced. Possible combination standards relevant for the sector • • • •

Companies which are certified by SGS for standards that are not relevant to combine with Responsible Care. < 50 employees - 0,75 day audit + 1 hour reporting > 50 100 employees - 1,5 day audit + 2 hours reporting

Responsible Care Audits COMBINED with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001 Companies that are already certified with SGS against one or more certification standards mentioned above. Companies which are not certified by SGS against one or more certification standards mentioned above, but are willing to transfer their certificate(s) to SGS. < 50 employees - 0,5 day audit + 1 hour reporting > 50 100 employees - 1 day audit + 1 hour reporting

PROJECT 3. Project Management SGS will appoint a Project Manager in regards to the Responsible Care Project. His tasks are: • Contactperson for BACD on technical questions • Deliberation on the content of the audits and training/calibration of the auditors.
SGS will appoint a Key Account Manager Sales with following tasks: • Contacting the members. • Proposals for stand alone RC audits or RC audit in combination with other standards. • Communication with BACD.
SGS will appoint (an) operations assistant (s) with following tasks: • Planning of the Responsible Care Audits. • Managing auditresults/reports. • Invoicing.

APPROACH 1. Auditors SGS provides several auditors regarding the Responsible Care Audits. These are all existing GMP, ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001 auditors. These auditors are qualified for the branchecodes EAC 12: Chemicals ans EAC 31: Distribution. The auditors are trained for Responsible Care Audits by an experienced Responsible Care auditor holding an official ESAD/SQAS Distributor qualification. The audits are executed in de company language. Auditorprofile: Expertise/experience Reactivity /listening skills Professionalism/ability to make analysis Flexibility/open-minded Integrity

Auditresults Report • Each audit results in a separate RC auditreport. • The report will only be sent to the company. • The BACD can ask their member to provide them with the RC auditreport. Auditconclusion • The BACD analyses and manages the auditresults • SGS will not issue any certificate or attestation regarding to Responsible Care

Contractual documents Frame contract • SGS has concluded a frame contract with the BACD • Which contains audittimes • Which contains audit costs Individual contract • The members will receive a proposal based on this frame contract • This proposal will mention the specific RC audittime to be executed • The RC audit can also be added to an existing contract for one or more certification standards or be proposed in combination with one or more certification standards.
