Asian Art Museum of SF - 200 Larkin Street - www.asianart.org - Hours are Tuesday-Sunday 10am-5pm and Thursdays until 9pm (spring and summer months). Come and enjoy programs designed especially for school groups and families. 12 and under are free and the first Sunday of each month is free. Also offers school tours (free of charge), teacher workshops and family and cultural festivals. Sunday storytelling on Sundays every week at 1pm, 10:30 (1st & 3rd) and 3pm (1st). AFTER SCHOOL Boys & Girls Club of SF, Tenderloin Unit – 115 Jones Street, Teen Center 209 Jones – www.bgcsf.org - For grades K 12. Membership fee is $10/yr/child and up. Scholarships are available. Hours are M-T 2-7pm, W-Th 2-8pm with additional teen hours Friday until 9pm. Open during breaks from 10 – 6pm. Activities include indoor/outdoor games, art classes, computer, homework assistance, tutoring, college prep, dance, and trips for club members. Leadership club for middle and high school students. Glide - Janice Mirikitani Family, Youth & Childcare Center - 434 Ellis Street – 415-674-6200 – www.glide.org - offers three key integrated services—Licensed Childcare, the Afterschool and Summer Program, and the Family Resource Center—all aimed at supporting the well-being and development of children and youth, and at helping families achieve stability and self-sufficiency. FYCC provides high quality full-day licensed childcare for up to 42 children daily aged 18 months to five years; the Afterschool and Summer Program provides a safe, fun, healthy and academically enriching environment for up to 75 children daily in grades kindergarten through 5th grade; and the Family Resource Center offers workshops, classes, family events, and individual, integrated support for parents. All programs operate Monday through Friday.  

Salvation Army Kroc Community Center – 240 Turk Street – For 1st - 5th grades. M-F from 3-6pm. $45/mo. Tutoring and reading programs, Arts & Crafts, Music, Computer Lab, Science, Swimming, Dance, Rock Climbing and games. Some school and bus stop pick-up. Snack provided. The Shih Yu-Lang Central YMCA – Boeddeker Park at 246 Eddy Street – www.ymcasf.org/central - A non-profit year round after school program offering services to youth ages 7 thru 12. Program hours are 3 - 6pm M-F. Teen program for ages 13 thru 18 and hours are 4 – 8pm M-F. Provides homework assistance, tutoring, art classes, fieldtrips, culinary arts, music, sports and variety of other activities. Serves a healthy snack and dinner M-F. Up On Top After School Program - 1187 Franklin - www.upontop.org - A free, safe, fun and enriching after school program for multi-ethnic children from K thru 5th grade. Tenderloin site is at the Tenderloin Children’s Playground on Ellis Street. Works to prepare children for academic and social success. Offers homework support, academic tutoring and enrichment, literacy support, cooking, science, leadership classes and field trips. Also, art and music classes taught by professional artists. Tenderloin After School Program (TASP at TNDC) – 225 Eddy Street - www.tndc.org - A recreational, educational, cultural drop-in program for children & youth ages 7-18. M-F 1-6pm and Saturday 10am-5pm. Also, tutoring for teens on Tues. and Wed. from 6-8pm and teen recreation on Fridays from 6-8pm for ages 13-18. CHILDCARE / PRESCHOOL Compass Children’s Center - 144 Leavenworth Street – 644-0504 ext. 3101 - www.compass-sf.org - Year-round Child Development Program for children ages 3 mo.-5 yr. and is for low-income Tenderloin families and homeless families. Hours are M-F 8:30am-4pm. Free/sliding scale. Extended hours are based on need. Cross Cultural Family Center – 259 Turk Street – crossculturalsf.org – Offers three programs - Morning program is for children ages 3-5 which meets from 9-12:30, breakfast and lunch provided. Also offers an extended day program from 7:30-5:30pm for parents who are working or attending school. The after school program is for K-4th graders and meets from 2-5:30, snacks provided. Free/Sliding Scale Fee. During the Summer and the Winter and Spring breaks the center offers this full day program for K-4th graders only (must be part of the after school program). COMPUTER CLASSES Tenderloin Technology Lab – 150 Golden Gate, 3rd floor – www.tenderlointechnologylab.org - All classes are Free! Offers adult classes for Web Workshop, Intro to Email, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Provides classes for both basic and intermediate skill levels. Check for class times. Individual tutoring on Fridays from 10am-12pm and 2-4pm. Adult dropin hours for the Computer Center are M – F from 8:30-11:45 and 1:30-4:15 (closed Wed. afternoons), and Sat. from 102:45pm. FAMILY RESOURCES Bay Area Women’s and Children’s Center – 318 Leavenworth Street – 415-474-2400 - www.bawcc.org - Offers dropin services for families, women & children including free clothes for women and children on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30am-12:30pm and interview clothing by appointment. Also has the Tenderloin Family Center at the Tenderloin Community School - 627 Turk Street. Sponsors the Tenderloin Scholarship Fund; publishes the Tenderloin Children, Youth and Family News, co-sponsors the Parent-Child Program with City College (at Tenderloin Children’s Playground) on Wed. from 11:30-1:30pm during the school year, and leads the Tenderloin Youth Sports Initiative (TYSI). Glide – 330 Ellis Street – www.glide.org - Walk-in Center – 415-674-6012 - offers case management & counseling plus information and referrals for housing, clothing and other basic needs. Provides rental assistance. M-Th hours are 7am12:30pm and 2-9pm, F hours 7am-12:30pm and 4-9pm. MEDICAL SERVICES St. Anthony’s Free Medical Clinic – 150 Golden Gate Avenue – 415-241-8320 - www.stanthonysf.org – Provides medical services for children and adults who live in SF and have MediCal, Medicare, Healthy SF, or no insurance. Hours are 8am-4pm M-F, except closes at noon on Wednesdays. Offers podiatry services T and Th 8am – 4pm. Call for an appointment, if you’ve been seen in the past year. Drop –in services available for registered patients, otherwise call for more information. Larkin Street Youth Medical Clinic– 134 Golden Gate Street – 415-673-0911 x259 - www.larkinstreetyouth.org - For youth ages 12-24. Open M, W, Th & F from 9am-5pm and Tues. 11-5pm. Closed from 1-2pm for lunch. STD testing. HIV program offers services in housing and medical care for ages 18-24 at 129 Hyde St. – 415-749-6960. Tenderloin Health Services (Glide) - 330 Ellis Street – 415-674-6140 – www.glide.org - Drop-in services (serves adults only) are M & W at 8:30 & 12:30, T at 8:30 and Th at 12:30, or call for an appointment. Need to register as a Glide patient. Offers mental health services, HIV/AIDS testing, TB testing, counseling, and referrals as well as general health care. The Teen Health Van – generally the first Tuesday of each month from 2pm – 7pm at 375 Eddy Street (Tenderloin Achievement Group) 650-736-7172 – offers comprehensive health services for uninsured and homeless youth, 10-25 years of age. Visits are on a first come, first serve basis. The location of the health van may change without advanced notice. Please call for more information.

RECREATION AND PARK / SPORTS PROGRAMS Boeddeker Park – 246 Eddy Street – www.sfrecpark.org - Variety of programming offered through the SF Boys and Girls Club (415-292-2321), The Shih Yu-Lang Central YMCA (415-292-2316) and SF Rec and Park (415-292-2304) – Playground hours are 9am – 7pm, 7 days/wk. Tenderloin Children’s Rec Center & Playground – 570 Ellis Street – 415-292-2162 - www.sfrecpark.org - Ages 6-17 (Children 5 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.) Playground hours are T – F 10am-7pm & Saturday 95pm. M – F during the summer. Pre-registration and some program fees are required. Activities include Child Observation Classes on W & Th from 11:30 -2, Tot Programs, Youth Sports, Arts and Crafts, Board Games, Yoga and Afterschool Program.

SCHOOLS DeMarillac Academy - 175 Golden Gate - www.demarillac.org - Provides an innovative, comprehensive and accessible Catholic education for children from underserved families in the Tenderloin and other at-risk communities in the Bay Area. Open to all faiths and cultural backgrounds. Serves grades 4 thru 8 and has class sizes of 22 to 24 students. Offers extended school day from 7:45-5pm and a summer program. YOUTH SERVICES Larkin Street Youth Services – 134 Golden Gate Street – 415-673-0911 ext. 200 - www.larkinstreetyouth.org - Larkin Street Academy//Engagement and Community Center - Provides basic needs and community center services to youth ages 12-24 which include medical services, counseling, referrals for housing, job and education skills training, case management, hot meals, laundry and shower services. Also provide various groups, such as an art, meditation, and other various groups. Hours are 9am-4pm M-F. Diamond Youth Shelter (for ages 12-17) @536 Central Ave., 415-567-1020 or (800)669-6196. Lark Inn - 869 Ellis Street - 40 Bed Shelter for ages 18-24. Call to sign up for permanent bed for up to four months. There may be a waiting list. Daily emergency bed sign ups are at 7pm. Vietnamese Youth Development Center – 166 Eddy Street – www.vydc.org - Has programs available to youth ages 11-24 in the Tenderloin and South of Market areas. Workshop and prevention services (drug, alcohol, self-esteem, cultural enrichment and parenting). Tutoring and Technology Career Lab. Offers Employment and On-the-Job Training for youth ages 14-24, applications for after school/summer work available for high school youth. If raining it will take place inside “The Luggage Store”. Provides comprehensive array of support services for homeless families. SF Main Library-Civic Center-Fisher Children’s Center – Corner of Larkin & Grove -www.sfpl.org - Hours are Mon. 10am-6pm; Tues., Wed. & Thurs. 9am-8pm; Fri. 12-6pm; Sat. 10am-6pm & Sun. Noon-5pm.
