Creating the ultimate flooring experience Tarkett integrated flooring and surface solutions cater to specific customer needs and provide unique benefits to end users. For building professionals they offer better performance and life-time returns. For end users they enhance the sense of comfort, wellbeing, security and confidence, and provide inspiration and motivation.

Practical

Our flooring solutions make a very real contribution to improving the quality of life of everyone who lives, works or enjoys leisure activities where they are installed.

Tarkett’s flooring solutions appeal to every sense, and create environments that put quality of life at the top of the agenda. The diverse range of designs, colours and patterns always ensures the perfect choice, while excellent acoustics and underfoot cushioning provide comfort and wellbeing.

Tarkett is able to create a distinctive flooring experience through a combination of worldwide expertise and a broad product portfolio that covers vinyl, linoleum, laminate, wood, accessories and sports surfaces. Tarkett flooring solutions offer tangible practical, sensorial and ecological benefits for every project, whether public, commercial, residential or sports, and new construction or renovation.

2

Tarkett creates durable, easy to install flooring solutions that offer outstanding cleaning and maintenance properties, thanks to unique surface treatments. These high-performance floors offer the best productivity and the lowest possible life cycle costs on the market, and deliver outstanding ROI for our clients. Sensorial

Ecological We continually look for new ways to increase the content of recycled materials in our flooring solutions and to recycle more and more. Our slip-resistant and static control products raise levels of building safety, while the low VOC emissions of our products contribute to better indoor air quality. We also design our products for the lowest possible use of water, detergents and energy for cleaning, so reducing their environmental footprint.

Surface treatments The best proven cleaning characteristics

Floorings with Top Level surface treatments

Flooring should be seen as an investment for the long term. Some still choose flooring based upon initial price alone, and don’t consider the costs involved in owning and maintaining the flooring.

Tarkett floorings have the best-proven cleaning and maintenance properties, thanks to high technology surface treatments and unique raw material compositions. For example, our outstanding iQ floorings offer Unique Surface Restoration with a simple dry-buff and will never need wax or polish; or our Linoleum xf, with X-treme Finish treatment, offers excellent surface resistance and maintenance properties that no one thought would be possible for linoleum flooring.

In fact, maintenance represent on average 92% of the cost during the flooring’s lifetime. Only 8% is related to purchase and installation. This really points out the importance of easy and low-cost cleaning and maintenance – and that a higher initial investment will really pay off in the long run. All floorcoverings require maintenance to ensure that they retain their appearance and durability. A tailored maintenance programme will help to expand the life of the floor and protect your investment.

Outstanding cleaning and maintenance properties also result in reduced strain on staff, and use of fewer resources, like minimised use of water, detergents and energy. All in line with our constant mission for causing minimal impact on the environment.

3

Make your Balanced Choice Tarkett’s approach to sustainability is all about giving our customers simple and clear information so they can make the right choice of flooring, balancing their project and budget requirements beside the need for sustainable solutions.

At Tarkett, sustainability isn’t just a theory but something we put in practice everyday in the way we design and make our products. We have focused on four key areas where customers can make a balanced choice :

1

2

3

4

Choose to use better materials – natural and renewable where possible

Select flooring produced with fewer resources – we monitor and continuously improve on our consumption of water, energy and the waste we general

Ensure safer, healthier products that contribute to wellbeing in people-friendly spaces

Reuse and recycle materials through participating in recycling or by actively recycling

CHOOSE BETTER MATERIALS To make a balanced choice, Tarkett gives you detailed information about our flooring and its content. From this you can select more environmentally-friendly products which: ■ have a larger content of natural and/or renewable raw materials ■ include recycled content ■ can be recycled in turn ■ release lower amounts of VOCs helping improve indoor air Quality

SELECT FLOORING PRODUCED WITH FEWER RESOURCES Every Tarkett product is manufactured to the highest environmental standards in facilities certified ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, with regular independent audits to assess environmental risks. We closely monitor five key indicators to ensure we continuously improve in our use of resources: ■ energy consumption ■ water consumption ■ VOC emissions from production ■ waste generation ■ recycling

ENSURE SAFER, HEALTHER PRODUCTS IN PEOPLE-FRIENDLY SPACES When you choose a Tarkett product, you take part in our effort to enhance quality of life, particularly by improving air quality inside buildings and homes. For instance, Tarkett products: ■ contribute to the best indoor air quality in the flooring marketplace, through reduced VOC emissions ■ reduce the use of chemical cleaning agents and water and energy consumption, thanks to surface treatments, such as iQ and Topclean XP.

PARTICIPATE IN REUSE AND RECYCLING OF PRODUCTS In making your balanced choice you can also actively participate by joining Tarkett ReUse – the industry’s largest flooring recycling programme. Since 1966 Tarkett has collected post-installation waste from worksites or installers in different countries which is then recycled, along with postproduction waste, into new flooring. Tarkett also recycles flooring at the end of its life, collecting materials that are recycled into products that range from road signs to piping. Tarkett recycles over 77,000 tonnes per year.

Tarkett’s Balanced Choice tag Tarkett’s Balanced Choice tag provides simple and transparent information for our customers about the content of our products and how they contribute to sustainable development. This tag is a significant innovation in the flooring industry and will be marked on all Tarkett product information. For each product, the tag uses percentages to show: ■ portion of raw materials that is natural and renewable ■ how much recycled material it contains (mainly from waste during production and installation) ■ if the product can be recycled ■ level of VOC emissions (TVOC in µg/m3 after 28 days) SAFETRED DIMENSION

FOCUS ON better indoor air quality Tarkett’s commitments to VOC* emissions Currently, all products that Tarkett manufactures have VOC emissions of less than 100 µg/m3 (TVOC after 28 days) contributing to better interior air quality. This makes Tarkett an industry reference for VOC reduction with products that are ten times better than current European standards. Tarkett’s ambition will go further in terms of VOC reduction, in order to ensure better air quality in buildings and homes. In addition, Tarkett has introduced Tarkospray, a unique water-based glue that improves conditions for installers for laying floors, while also considerably reducing emissions during installation. Tarkett is developing further eco-design innovations to bring its customers the best indoor air quality. *VOC: Volatile Organic Compound.

The iQTM concept Intelligent quality, for top performance in every aspect of flooring function. Tarkett’s iQ range lives up to its name - “Intelligent Quality”. With outstanding durability, ease of cleaning and maintenance and the best life cycle costs, iQ outperforms every other product on the market. With a palette that covers the full colour spectrum and that offers everything from classic to the latest trends,iQ is the perfect choice for a wide range of uses, from education and healthcare to offices and public buildings. The source of the iQ range’s performance is Unique Surface Restoration - the result of years of work in raw materials and production, and maintenance requirements. This innovative technology produces a glass-hard surface that requires only dry buffing to restore the original appearance and that requires no wax and no polish forever. Most recently, the introduction of iQ Natural has marked a landmark for vinyl flooring. Made from 75% natural or renewable materials, this new-generation vinyl uses a plasticiser based on renewable resources and has very low VOC emissions.
