Principal‟s Report for the year 2014-2015 1.0

Introduction:

To begin with, it gives me immense pleasure to report that, the current year, the thirteenth in the annals of Sahrdaya, witnessed the colorful passing out of its ninth B.Tech Batch. Of course not on our merit, but with the divine Grace of our Patron Lord the Sacred Heart of Jesus, coupled with the generous support of our venerable Chairman, honorable Trustees and members of the Advisory Board and Academic Council, teachers, parents, well wishers, staff and students, this institution could continue to maintain its esteemed place among the new generation Colleges in the state, this year also. Shri. K. Jayakumar IAS, Vice-Chancellor, Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University, declared open the activities of the academic year on 23rd June 2014. And the year aptly winds up with the creditable five-year accreditation of the institution by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Sahrdaya is the first in the University and third in the state, among engineering colleges, to qualify for this national quality certification. That our institution‟s NAAC CGPA score is the highest among engineering colleges in the State makes the achievement all the more remarkable. 2.0 Academic Activities: Our 2014 pass percentage stands at 80.85% and we hope to retain the University topper-one position in 2015 also; that is the sixth consistent win. Let us recall in this connection that Sahrdaya had gathered a total of 68 University ranks from its first seven B.Tech batches. The Seventh and Third semester classes started on 9th June 2014 and the Fifth Semester classes on 23rd June 2014. Seventh and Third Semester classes came to a close on 10th October 2014 and Fifth semester classes on 25th October 2014. Eight Semester classes commenced on 8th December 2014 and Sixth Semester classes on 6th January 2015. The Fourth Semester classes opened on 19th December, 2014.
