Vietnam Vision Project- management team namely Dr Phuoc Vo, Dr Hien Tran, Dr. Le Duc Hong , Dr. William Trinh and others working jointly with Rotary Australia World Community Service Limited-Eastern Region, Australia, Rotary Club of Liverpool West, D9690, New South Wales, Australia and Past District Governor Danny Low, Rotary International Special Representative for Vietnam 2009-2012.

A high proportion of the funds were raised from the Australian communities particularly overseas Vietnamese professional organizations and individuals, major sponsors, friends of Vietnam Vision Project members and Rotary clubs.

District 9, Ho Chi Minh City-BV QD Mien Dung153 free cataract operations and other eye checks completed. Long Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City 200 medical checks by doctors and medicine prescribed –free. medicine are donated by Australian pharmaceutical companies as well as many chemist shops 170 eye checks by optometrists and ophthalmologists. Main Mission To provide free cataract operations for the poor people. By restoring their eye sights, this will improve their lives and independence. To use Australian volunteers in various medical, ophthalmology specialization to contribute their time and skills to support this very worthy project. To use the best general management practice (GMP) in carrying this project. To use the latest technology and procedures similar to those used in Australia To use the best quality lenses to ensure high level of outcome Lastly, the transfer of medical skills to local medical professionals in Vietnam to support capacity building. . Background of Vietnam Vision Project Started in 2003 and annual visit was made in every year since then. As such, Vietnam Vision Project 2009 is our 7th visit to Vietnam. Vietnam Vision Project teams had visited various districts, provinces throughout Vietnam. Till date we have provided some 3500 free cataracts. The first Cambodia visit by Vietnam Vision Team was also made to Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2008 and followed by a second visit with Vietnam Vision Team to Kampong Thom, Cambodia in 2009.
