Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Incentives Third Party Financing The State of Ohio allows for third party financing of renewable energy systems. In this arrangement, a third party owns, installs, and maintains the system while selling the electricity produced to the site owner through a power purchase agreement. This situation allows for the third party to take advantage of incentives, such as tax credits, that the site owner may not be eligible for.

Butler Rural Electric Cooperative Residential Rebate Program Sectors: Residential Eligible Energy Efficiency Technologies: Subsidized Energy Audits, Electric Water Heaters, Dual Fuel Heat Pumps, Air Conditioners, Demand Control on Water Heaters and Air Conditioners Eligible Renewable Energy Technologies: Geothermal Heat Pumps The Butler Rural Electric Cooperative makes it easy to be efficient with energy and money saving programs and rebates. Some equipment rebates require the installation of a radio-controlled switch (RCS). An RCS is a device that is installed on certain equipment to help reduce the peak electric load during times of high electric use. When the cooperative is notified that the demand for electricity is reaching an all-time high, a signal is sent to the radio-controlled switch, which turns off the heating elements for a period of time. Today's energy efficient water heaters are capable of holding heat for extended periods of time so the elements can be off for a period with little or no inconvenience. • Subsidized Energy Audits: $150 (cost) • Electric Water Heaters: $350-$550, $4/month credit for having a RCS is installed • Dual Fuel Heat Pumps: $300-$600 • Air Conditioners: $100 credit for having a RCS is installed + $2/month credit • Geothermal Heat Pumps: $600-$1,200 Contact: Butler Rural Electric Cooperative; 1-800-255-2732, www.butlerrural.coop
