Remote Visual Inspection
• Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) is a system of using remote controlled cameras to inspect hard to reach areas that are otherwise inaccessible.
• Some cameras are suitable for short distances and other more powerful cameras can crawl many meters into pipelines. Both small and large cameras offer excellent visual inspection capabilities and are widely accepted inspection techniques.
• In this presentation you will learn about which camera is suitable for which application and will find a visual representation of the results each camera can perform.
• All cameras come in different size and length variations to accommodate most requirements.
• Camera limitation can depend on the object being inspected and for pipelines it can be restricted by the number of bends that need to be navigated.

Dacon Video Probes
Dacon has a wide range of video probes ranging in size from 7mm camera heads up to 10mm camera heads. Dacon Video Probes come with varying lengths of control cables ranging from 3 meters in length up to 10 meters in length. Dacon stocks the largest selection of video probes in Asia and we have cameras with both fixed heads and also special articulated heads that can look in all directions vertically and horizontally. Video probes are suitable for inspecting small piping and tubes as well as inspecting inside mechanical devices and machine engines which are hard to reach. All have electronic image capturing capability and real time video viewing capability.

Dacon-XL Vu Camera
DACON XL-Vu video scope contains a 6.1 mm camera head with flexible stainless steel cable with a 4.5 meter length. XL-Vu is suitable for small piping/tube inspection and mechanical device s, machine engines and gas turbines. It is particular useful in the aviation industry for detailed inspection of engine parts and the energy industry for inspection of turbines. XL-Vu is able to inspect in all directions using an articulated head controller. XL-Vu runs from its own power source and there is no need to connect to computer for recording video and picture as this is done within the unit itself. Image capture, video capture and real time video viewing are all standard features.

Dacon Micro Camera
Dacon Micro Cameras offer high resolution images for larger pipeline diameters. As the camera is larger and less controllable than the Dacon Video Probe it is therefore best suited to medium diameter pipelines of 4” to 10”. The Micro Camera is housed inside a tube that can be pushed into the pipeline. The housing has LED lights surrounding the camera which allow the pipeline interior to be flooded with light and allow for very clear imagery. The advantage over the video probe is the additional light and higher definition pictures . The camera runs from its own power source and is connected to a computer for recording video and images. There is a restriction with how many bends the micro camera can pass inside a pipe (generally a maximum of 2 bends).

Dacon Crawler Cameras
Dacon pan tilt camera with robot crawler can be fitted with very long cables to cover distances up to 2kms. Suitable for large piping inspection 8-42 inch and is able to inspect in all directions using its own powerful light source and specialized pan tilt camera system. Connects to laptop computer for recording VDO and Picture.

Dacon Special Purpose Cameras
• Dacon special purpose cameras are custom made solutions tailored to meet specific client requirements. • An example is special long range crawler systems for penetrating many kilometers inside large bore pipelines and tunnels. • Another example is a custom built camera that mounted on a helium balloon to float up and down inside the circular legs of an offshore oil platform to allow for close visual inspection in an otherwise inaccessible area. • All requirements can be met and built with the wide array of in-house expertise and engineering capabilities at Dacon.

Dacon Video Pig
• The in-line camera inspection pig is a unique instrument, which allows you to see the inside of your pipelines. • You can determine the quality of internal coating, check T-bars, internal corrosion, valves and valve seats, leakage or verify inspection data. • The camera inspection pig is also used to check the effectiveness of cleaning programs. And identify blockages and other non conformities inside a pipeline. • Unique in its kind, the system is 100% autonomous; no umbilical is required, so unlimited lengths of pipeline can be inspected.
