Driving In Las Vegas / Nevada We want you to have a great time! There are some things very different about driving in a tourist town. Each state has its own laws, so we want to be sure you know before you go. Here are a few helpful hints and some laws that may be different from where you live: Speed Limit: Generally 45 on surface and 65 for freeway. Drive the Strip: Want to drive the Las Vegas Strip? We recommend that you do that early in the morning or late in the evening (avoid Friday and Saturday) and drive CAREFULLY! It’s a great drive but the signal lights and pedestrians hide – there are a lot of distractions. If you are driving, use all of your skills, have your navigator help and Enjoy! Pedestrians: Watch for pedestrians. Many tourists party and do not pay attention to cars or step off the curb/esplanade or strange angles – even in burbs. No DUI: Do not drive if you have consumed alcohol – our laws are VERY strict! Find a designated driver. Signal Lights: Our stop lights are long – 2 minutes or more is not uncommon. Be patient. Count to 3 after the light turns green before moving, after looking both directions, twice. Cell Phones and Texting Texting, accessing the internet and hand-held cell phone use while driving are illegal in Nevada. You can talk using a hands-free headset and, while making voice calls, touch the phone to “activate, deactivate or initiate a feature or function on the device.” Emergencies are an exception. Right on Red: You are allowed to turn right on a red light after coming to a full stop, unless otherwise posted. U-Turns: U-turns are generally allowed if they can be completed safely and not prohibited by signage. Uturns and lane changes to pass another vehicle are prohibited in school zones. School Buses: You are required to stop unless on opposite side of physical barrier. Want More Info? http://www.dmvnv.com/dltrafficlaws.htm#laws

Getting to the Suncoast Hotel and Casino The Suncoast Hotel and Casino is located approximately 10 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip Address: 9090 Alta Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89144 Phone:(702) 636-7111 There are 12 restaurants, bowling and movies at the Suncoast along with a spa, pool and gaming. There is no need to leave! You have several options to get to this beautiful location on the west side of Las Vegas. Driving: We recommend that you avoid the I-15. Yes, that is where the GPS takes you! It offers a great view of the Las Vegas Resort corridor, but it can be our idea of traffic especially between 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. You definitely want to stay away from the I-15 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday when Southern California arrives. So how do you get here? Take the 215 west or 95 toward Reno around town and exit on Summerlin Parkway. You will see the Rampart Exit. Go south and the hotel will be on your right at about ½ mile. Parking Your Cadillac: Car parking will be on the east side of the hotel in the Marquee lot that is located out front near the large sign. Cross streets are Rampart and Alta and Tivoli Village is across the street. The lot will be open for parking starting on Monday. Assignments and layout will be ready on Tuesday when you return from the driving tour and you can move to your new place at that time. You will park between the lines and there is a space on each side of you No tail to tail parking. We have plenty of space and want to show off your Cadillac or LaSalle. Did not bring a Cadillac for the show? Garage parking is on the west side of the hotel; there is plenty of surface parking on the east side; or there is Valet at the main entrance under the portico. Trailer Parking: Trailer parking will be on the west side of the building near the parking garage in the lot that fronts Alta. Arriving by Plane at McCarran Airport? Suncoast Shuttle: For your convenience, the Suncoast offers shuttle service to and from the airport 7 days a week. These shuttles are for use by hotel guests only. If you plan to use the Suncoast airport shuttle, there is a scheduled and you must contact the hotel Front Desk staff 48 hours prior to arrival by calling the number below. At last check with the hotel website, the airport pick up location is at Terminal 1, one floor below baggage claim at Level 0. Proceed to the outside parking lot and the shuttle will be parked between spaces 15 through 21. The shuttle is white with the Boyd Gaming logo. Please call the Suncoast Hotel and Casino and make arrangements at least 48 hours prior to your arrival. Call toll-free at 877-677-7111. Shuttle Schedule to Suncoast: Even Hours between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. To Airport: Odd Hours between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Source: http://www.suncoastcasino.com/stay/shuttle-service There are also plenty of other ways to get to the Suncoast. We suggest you use a system that takes reservations if you do not use the Suncoast Shuttle (e.g., SuperShuttle, Uber, and limousine).

Everyone needs to take the edge off by a pool now and then, and Vegas has some of the best. There are plenty of snapshots to take and plenty of sunlight to help capture the moment. For a five-star restaurant or gala show on The Strip. For the Wednesday Welcome Reception, we invite you to wear your best 60s clothes including car and Hawaiian shirts. The dress for Saturday is black attire if you have it – our theme is Classic Vegas. . Cadillac shirts or casual clothes are welcome – be comfortable! We just want you there! If you are a fan of the game, you will want to check out the Vegas golf courses including a couple in walking distance. It is a desert and there are not always a lot of trees, so bring your own shade. Do not forget to bring your medications so you do not miss out on any of the fun. Want to go to a show? Special dinner? These can be made at least 15 to 30 days before arrival. Check out the options at the Suncoast. Special shows may have tickets available now. There are 320 days of sunshine a year, so chances are you will need some shades. You will want to keep this close at hand, especially in the summer months. You will cover a lot of ground from the Strip to downtown and going from one gorgeous Cadillac to an exquisite LaSalle or on a tour, so make sure your shoes are comfortable. If you are visiting any time between late October and early April, Las Vegas could be chillier than you might expect. Casinos and hotels can also be cool and you might keep a sweater or jacket handy. It can be more chilly than you might think, particularly in the evenings. Long pants, a sweater and/or a jacket are recommended if visiting between late October and early April. Depending on where you are from, we also see t-shirts, jeans, shorts and athletic shoes. Las Vegas, with its arid climate, sees more than 300 days of sunshine per year, with an average annual rainfall of only 4.13 inches (10.5 cm) and an average humidity rate of 29 percent. We are expecting chamber of commerce weather that week! In our “cashless” and credit-card world, Las Vegas love cash. You may want to bring some with you, but ATMs are available (there may be a fee). You may want your checkbook. Hotels will usually also cash checks if needed.
