google analytics

An option to add Google Analytics to your site is now included in the eReg module.

advanced settings > google analytics What is Google Analytics? Google Analytics is a free tracking service that Google provides to websites. Subscribers can use Google Analytics to track both statistics about website visitors and statistics about purchases made on a site. 1. You need a Google Account – If you have a gmail email account that is all you need. If not you can set up a free Gmail account by going to: https://accounts.google.com/SignUp?service=mail&continue=https%3A%2F%2Fmail.google.com %2Fmail%2F<mpl=default Once you set up your Google account then click on this link to learn all about the Google Analytics features: http://www.google.com/analytics/features/index.html 2. After you set up your Google Analytics for your event website go to: eReg > Advanced Settings > Google Analytics and paste the Google Analytics code into the box (that you generated with your Google account). Now, after you set up Google Analytics for your site you will be able to login to your Google account and view the statistics for each site you have (see example below). FYI: it takes a few weeks to start seeing statistics, so be patient.

seo

An option to add SEO to your site is now included in the eHome module.

my website > seo Go to My Website > SEO

Figure 2: SEO

This is a new feature to provide SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for your eHome event site. 

What is SEO?

Briefly, SEO stands for “search engine optimization.” It is the process of getting traffic from the “free,” “organic,” “editorial” or “natural” listings on search engines. All major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing have such results, where web pages and other content such as videos or local listings are shown and ranked based on what the search engine considers most relevant to users. Payment isn’t involved, as it is with paid search ads. It is a process that allows you to help get your site found easier (by ranking) when people search for your event or using keywords that are used in your event. 

What is Canonicalization (C14n for short)?

It would be easier for you to read about it (don’t try to pronounce it ). We found a good site that it explains it in layman’s terms. http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/canonicalization

3.

opt out for paying tax

The ability to have admin and/or registrants opt out to paying tax has been added to eReg.

eReg > fees & payment > tax settings This enhancement provides the ability for Admin and/or Registrants (if checked) to be able to opt out of paying tax for their fees. This feature can be offered when some attendees/admin may not be liable for paying taxes.

eMarketing – create an email When creating an eMarketing email you have the ability to add a sender’s name and email address in your eMarketing list (2 new fields were added to the CSV template) and then use them as the sender when eMarketing sends the email. When creating the new email, check the check box in Email Details, as shown below, to enable this enhancement. When the email is sent it will now use these Send details.
