I-BURN SMOOTHIE BOOST

Ingredients

Kale and Spinach

• ¼ pine nuts • 1 lemon, peeled • 1 cup water • ¾ cup ice • ½ pink grapefruit • ½ watermelon • ¼ avocado • ½ cucumber • Optional: dash of ground cinnamon • Optional: birch xylitol or pure stevia, if you need more sweetness

Kale and spinach are potent sources of nutrients. These leafy greens are rich in many vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals that reduce inflammation and encourage detoxification, such as vitamins C, A, and E and the B vitamins; calcium, potassium, magnesium; a wide variety of antiinflammatory flavonoids and carotenoids; and omega-3 fatty acids. The isothiocyanates in kale have demonstrated cellular detoxification action. Pop them into your I-Burn Smoothie for an extra antiinflammatory boost.

Directions

What You Need: • 1 cup fresh kale leaves, spinach leaves, or baby spinach leaves

1. Dry-blend the nuts. Add the lemon, water, ice, pink grapefruit, watermelon, cucumber, and avocado. Blend until smooth. If you need more flavor, you can add a sprinkle of cinnamon and/or a few drops of pure stevia or birch xylitol to taste.

*Make this smoothie fresh each morning for maximum micronutrient content.

Step by Step: 1. Wash the greens. Tear kale leaves away from the thick stem, and throw away any long, tough spinach stems. Tear the larger leaves into pieces. (If using baby spinach, you don’t have to do anything to the leaves except clean them.) 2. Add 1 cup greens to your I-Burn Smoothie, blend, and drink.

TOMATO & ZUCCHINI FRITTATA SERVES 2 | PREP TIME 10 MINUTES | TOTAL TIME 40 MINUTES

Ingredients

• 4 eggs • 1/4 cup unsweetened canned coconut milk • 1 teaspoon olive oil • Handful of chopped leafy greens (dandelion greens, baby kale, or spinach) • 1 medium zucchini, sliced into thin coins • 1 clove of garlic, minced • Sea salt and black pepper • 12 ounces tomatoes (about 3 medium, sliced, or 3 cups cherry tomatoes, halved, or a mixture) • Fresh parsley

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 375ºF and whisk together eggs and coconut milk with a pinch of salt. (For a fluffier frittata, you can do this in a blender). Set aside. 2. Heat a 10-12 in. ovenproof skillet over mediumhigh heat. Add a bit of olive oil, then add the chopped greens, zucchini, minced garlic, and a few pinches of salt and pepper. Cook for just 1 min. or so, until the greens wilt and the zucchini starts to soften. Add the eggs. 3. Add tomatoes, more salt and pepper. Turn the stove off and slide your pan into the oven. 4. Bake for 15 mins. or until eggs are just set. 5. Remove from oven, cool for 15 mins. then sprinkle with fresh parsley, slice and serve. Add more salt and pepper to taste.

I-BURN BOOST Essential Oils The essential oils I like for the H-Burn include sage, basil, ylang-ylang, geranium, and frankincense. These are useful for balance. They have a range of benefits but also address many H-Burn issues. Sage is good for fatigue, anxiety, and PMS and menopausal issues. Basil is useful for depression and as an aphrodisiac, if you feel like your sex drive needs a boost. Ylang-ylang has a pleasant scent that helps with mood swings and nervousness. Geranium is rejuvenating and a good remedy for fatigue, while frankincense is calming and a good remedy for anxiety and as an aid to meditation. Smell them as needed by putting a drop on the back of your hand, or use them to massage any new areas of fat you didn’t use to have, such as belly fat or saddlebags. What You Need: • Sage, basil, ylang-ylang, geranium, and/or frankincense essential oil • Cold-pressed raw coconut oil or all-natural massage oil Step by Step: 1. Add a few drops of essential oil (or a combination) to a small scoop of coconut oil or a palmful of massage oil, and mix together in a small bowl. 2. Massage this into areas where you have hormone-induced white fat, or just rub it everywhere. www.hayliepomroy.com

MINT PEAR & PAPAYA SMOOTHIE SERVES 1

D-BURN SMOOTHIE BOOST

Ingredients

• ¼ cup cooked quinoa • 2 limes, peeled • 1 teaspoon chia seeds • ½ pear • ½ cup packed mint • ½ cucumber • 1 cup water • ½ cup papaya

Directions

1. Dry-blend the cooked quinoa. Add the limes, chia seeds, pear, mint, cucumber, papaya, water, and ice. Blend until smooth. If you need more sweetness, you can add a few drops of pure stevia or birch xylitol.

*If you want to make this for the whole plan, take this recipe and multiply its ingredients by five. Pour into single-serving containers and freeze. Then remove, re-blend, and enjoy.

Aloe Vera Juice Aloe vera juice comes from the aloe vera plant, which is known for the gel-like contents of its thick leaves. People often use the gel straight from the plant—just tear off a leaf and rub the gel on a sunburn or abrasion. However, aloe vera juice is equally healing to the insides. You can buy it in juice form. I add it to the D-Burn Smoothie because it heals the mucosal lining and can also help relieve constipation and colitis. What You Need: • Aloe vera juice, which you should be able to purchase from a well-stocked health food store, or a hearty and large aloe vera plant Step by Step: Add ¼ cup aloe vera juice. Blend and drink. If you want to use the gel from your own plant, cut off a large leaf with a sharp knife or scissors. Cut away all the green parts and lift the filet of gel from the center with the side of a knife. Add this to your D-Burn Smoothie before blending.

SLOW COOKER BEEF STEW W/ POTATOES SERVES 6 | PREP TIME 15 MINUTES | TOTAL TIME 4-8 HOURS

D-BURN BOOST

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 lbs. beef stew meat, cut into bite-size pieces • 2 tablespoons olive oil • 2 1/2 cups beef broth • 1 large sweet potato, peeled and cubed • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped • 5 carrots, sliced 1/2-inch thick • 1 red bell pepper, diced • 2 teaspoons dried oregano • 1 bay leaf • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper • Chopped fresh basil

Directions

1. Brown the stew meat in a skillet in oil over medium-high heat. Don’t cook it all the way through, just brown it on the outsides. Then scrape the contents of the skillet into the slow cooker. Add some of the beef broth to the hot pan, and scrape up all of the browned bits. Stir this into the slow cooker, along with the rest of the broth and all other ingredients (except the fresh basil). Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours, or LOW for 8 hours. Stir in the chopped fresh basil, and serve.

Reflexology Reflexology, the holistic practice of massaging certain points on the feet that correspond to all the parts and organ systems in the body, is a pleasant and easy therapy that can help activate and detoxify the liver and thyroid. Just rub the right spots on your feet, and you can boost the work the H-Burn is doing in your body. For a double boost, use any of the H-Burn essential oils on the reflexology points. What You Need: • A quiet spot and an unoccupied pair of hands (or a reflexologist or friend willing to rub your feet!) Step by Step: 1. Sit down in a relaxed position. Take off your shoes and socks. Take your foot into your hands and turn your foot over so you are looking at the sole. 3. To stimulate the thyroid gland, press just below your big toe, as indicated in the diagram. 4. To stimulate and activate the liver, press and rub about an inch below the ball of your foot, as indicated in the diagram. 5. Repeat on the other foot.

COCONUT PEACH SMOOTHIE SERVES 1

H-BURN SMOOTHIE BOOST

Ingredients

• ¼ cup raw walnuts • 2 cups spinach • 1 cup kale • ½ cup peaches • ½ cup cucumbers • 3 tablespoon coconut milk • ½ cup water (or more, depending preference) • ½ cup ice

Directions

1. Dry blend the raw walnuts. Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender and continue blending until the smoothie has reached your desired consistency.

One Raw Organic Egg Raw eggs are a nutritional powerhouse, and they’re not just for eggnog at the holidays. Egg yolks contain healthy fats, a ton of fat-soluble essential vitamins, and good cholesterol, which helps with hormone production. Yolks also have lecithin, a micronutrient responsible for hormone metabolism; it also improves the health of your liver, skin, and brain. I like this Success Booster for men with testosterone production or absorption issues. If you are worried about salmonella, know that most healthy people won’t be harmed by the occasional raw egg, but I do encourage you to buy organic and from a local source, if possible. This will reduce the chances of contamination. And if a raw egg simply makes you too nervous? Just choose a different Success Booster. No specific boosters are ever required. What You Need: • 1 raw organic egg Step by Step: Add 1 egg to your H-Burn smoothie. Blend well.

PAN SEARED SALMON W/ VEGGIES SERVES 2 | PREP TIME 20 MINUTES | TOTAL TIME 30 MINUTES

Ingredients

• 2 small yellow squash, sliced 1/2-inch thick • 2 cups quartered fresh mushrooms (button, crimini, or shiitake), about 4 ounces • 1 small red onion, cut into 1/2-inch-thick wedges • 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar • Sea salt and black pepper • 2 6-ounce salmon fillets • 3 cups baby spinach leaves

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400ºF. and toss squash, mushrooms, and onions with 3 tbls. of olive oil, vinegar, and season with salt and pepper. Single layer a sheet pan and roast for about 25 mins. 2. Remove salmon from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 10 mins then season with salt and pepper. 3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, and let it sit for about 5 mins. until very hot. Add remaining olive oil and salmon to the pan. 4. Cook salmon until it lifts easily and is well browned. Flip and finish cooking the other side, until the salmon is nearly opaque in the center. Remove the salmon to a plate. 5. Remove vegetables when they are finished and immediately add spinach. Stir until the vegetables are mixed and the spinach is wilted. 6. Serve the salmon on top of the vegetables.

H-BURN BOOST Clay Bath Clay is a great way to detox from heavy metals and toxicity from environmental sources. There are several types of clay, and it’s important to choose the right sort. The best type of clay for a clay bath is bentonite clay. Avoid any products that contain additives of any kind. You want pure bentonite clay. By detoxing through the skin, you take the burden off the liver, which allows it to be more efficient at neutralizing toxins. Hormone receptors throughout the body also become more efficient when removing toxins that can act like goalies, blocking hormone receptor sites and preventing proper absorption. Drink water before and after your clay bath to facilitate the detox effect. What You Need: • Bentonite clay (you can purchase this at most pharmacies and online) • A fine-mesh drain strainer or hair trap, to catch clay clumps that could clog your drain Step by Step: 1. Measure 2 cups of dry, powdered clay. 2. Pour the clay into running bathwater, avoiding any clay dust that gets into the air. Mix the clay in with your hand as the tub fills. 3. Step carefully into the bath and make sure to keep the clay water out of your ears, nose, & eyes. 4. Soak for at least 20 minutes. Take a lukewarm shower after the allotted time to wash off the clay and rinse it out of the tub. www.hayliepomroy.com
