1. REBRANDING: WHAT DOES THIS ACTUALLY MEAN? Welcome and congratulations - youʼre now a rebranding Partner. This means you can use your brand on all of your customersʼ Online Businesses. As a Partner, you can completely rebrand the solution and make it your own. Your logo will replace the Business Catalyst logo at the top left of every page - every touchpoint of the system is rebrandable to keep you firmly in the spotlight. • The Administration back office will carry your logo. • System notification and weekly report emails sent to your customers will carry your brand. • Creating new sites using the Online Business Builder will be on your domain, e.g. yourcustomer.yourdomain.com.

2. REBRANDING YOUR PARTNER ACCOUNT

2a. Rebranding your account: Choosing a domain There are two options when selecting a domain name to promote your Online Business solution and rebrand your account. • •

You can use your companyʼs existing domain or, You can register an alternate domain to promote your Online Business solution

Note: Business Catalyst does not offer advanced DNS management tools. If the domain you select requires the creation of other DNS entries, then it will not be possible to use this domain for rebranding. In such a scenario you should register an alternate domain.

2b. Steps to rebrand your account and Free Partner Site Now that you have a domain there are 3-steps required to complete rebranding. Step 1: Redelegate yourdomain.com to Business Catalyst (ns01.businesscatalyst.com and ns02.businesscatalyst.com)

Note: When you specify a domain for rebranding, you must redelegate it to use the Business Catalyst name servers. You cannot simply point your domain name to Business Catalyst. The reason for this is that every time a new site is created, Business Catalyst needs to be able to create a new record in the DNS for your domain, e.g. customer1.yourdomain.com, customer2.yourdomain.com and so forth. Business Catalyst is unable to do this if your domain is not redelegated to use the Business Catalyst DNS servers.

Step 2: Add this URL to your Free Partner site

To set this up please refer to our “Going Live” guide. Step 3: Notify the Partners Team via the Support form in your Partner Portal to finalize the setup of this domain

Note: Before you contact the Partner Team please conduct your own DNS search to ensure you have correctly completed the previous steps. You can use one of these free online products (http://www.dnsstuff.com, http://iptools.com and http://www.dnswatch.info). The results should reflect the Business Catalyst name servers. If not, contact your domain registrar for assistance in delegating your domain to us. We cannot complete your rebranding if the redelegation is not complete. We cannot assist with redelegation since it is a process that is external to Business Catalyst.

Q: What should I expect if I donʼt complete the rebranding steps as outlined above? A:

If the rebranding process outlined above is not completed the 30-Trial option that allows your customers to trigger sites through the Online Business Builder will not use your domain. Any new sites created will be in the format: yourcustomer.businesscatalyst.com. 


Q: Can I complete domain rebranding but add my logo at a later time? A: You can complete domain rebranding without adding your logo. This will however mean that the Login Box and Administration Console for your site and all your client sites will remain Business Catalyst branded. Q: Can I buy my new domain name from Business Catalyst? A: No, unfortunately Business Catalyst is not a domain registrar.

3. REBRANDING THE BUSINESS CATALYST DNS NAME SERVERS We recommend you use the Business Catalyst name servers (ns01.businesscatalyst.com and ns02.businesscatalyst.com). If you wish to use your own name servers, keep in mind that this involves a complicated setup process. Once this is setup any new customers you bring on to the platform can also use your name servers, e.g. ns01.yourdomain.com and ns02.yourdomain.com instead of ns01.businesscatalyst.com and ns02.businesscatalyst.com.

Rebranding the Business Catalyst Name Servers To take advantage of this feature you will need to complete the following procedure: Step 1: Follow the steps outlined above in Section 2b. Steps to rebrand your account and Free Partner Site. If these steps arenʼt completed you will not be able to rebrand the name servers.

Note: When the Partners Team finalizes the setup of your domain, they will automatically create two extra records in the DNS. These two new records are your own name servers, which you can use to redelegate your current and future customer domains to. Do not attempt the following steps unless you have been advised by the Business Catalyst Partners Team that rebranding has been completed.

Step 2: In order to complete the redelegation of your domain to your name servers, go back to your registrar and enter in the new name servers that have already been created for you. For example: • •

ns01.yourdomain.com (203.134.157.116) ns02.yourdomain.com (203.134.157.117)

If the process fails then you will need to liaise with your registrar in order to register and verify the name servers. Business Catalyst cannot assist with this, as it is external to our operations.

4. REBRANDING THE ADMINISTRATION INTERFACE Rebranding the administration interface with your logo is easy. Follow the steps below to replace the Business Catalyst logo throughout in the Admin Console and all system notification emails.

4a. Your logo size Make sure that your logo is 200px wide by 60px high and optimized for the web – ideally saved as transparent .gif or .png file.

4b. Uploading your logo Step 1: Log into your Partner site Step 2: Go to File Manager Step 3: Upload your web-optimized logo using the File Manager. You may want to create a new folder, e.g. “Images” to place the image in.

Step 4: Once uploaded, click the file name and preview the image (top right of File Manager)

Step 5: Click ʻPreview in Browserʼ – this will open a new browser window Step 6: Copy & Paste the URL from the browser window in your Partner Portal > Admin, then click “Save”.

Step 7: Log out and log back in to your Partner site to check that the rebranding has taken effect.

4c. How long does it take for my logo to show up? Once youʼve upload your logo there are 3 different areas that will be affected: • Administration Console – Your logo will appear in this area instantly • Administration Login Page – Allow up to 24 hours for this to be updated • Online Business Builder Page – Allow 24 hours for this to be updated

4d. Troubleshooting your logo If you cannot see your logo after allowing the time specified above, use the following steps to try and diagnose the issue. Q. Youʼve uploaded your logo and it is still not showing after 24hrs? You will most likely see something similar to:

There may be one or more reasons why your logo does not appear in the system. In order to diagnose the problem you should: • Go to your Partner Portal -> Admin • Copy the entire path to your logo, e.g. http://yourdomain.com/yourlogo.gif • Paste it into a new browser window If your logo does not appear then it's due to one of the following reasons: • You have not yet uploaded your logo • Your domain may have changed, e.g. http://yourdomain.com/yourlogo.gif is now http://someotherdomain.com/yourlogo.gif Ensure you have uploaded your logo as described in Section 4, Step 6. Then enter the full path of your logo in the Partner Image field as found in Partner Portal -> Admin.

5. REBRANDABLE MATERIAL FOR YOUR OWN SITE During the sign up process, if you elected not to use the unbranded Partner Site, you can still take advantage of all our rebrandable sales material and site content. This is available in your Partner Portal under the Resources tab and includes: • • • •

5a. Pre-designed Free Partner Site content Unfortunately, we are not able to automatically assign you the sample partner site if it was not elected when you first signed up. We have, however, created a zip file containing all the content youʼll need, and a readme file that will take you through implementing the site yourself. The best approach is to upload the content to your Free Partner Site, choose a new folder where you can test it before taking it live. We strongly advise against creating a new trial site to implement this content, since we cannot migrate your partner domain, past invoices and other aspects of your current partner site to another site.
