To process an order for a spin down quantity, determine the amount of pounds based off the requested footage by the contractor. Enter the amount of pounds on the ticket noting the required footage. After spinning down the required coil footage, re-weigh the coil to verify the actual pounds of coil taken out of inventory. Note the actual weight in shipped column of the ticket. Update the tickets to adjust the invoice accordingly. This process ensures proper invoicing and accurate inventory levels. These coils are cut from master coils which are slightly thicker in the middle to avoid oil canning during the painting process. The gauge can vary slightly depending on where the coil was cut from the master coil. Inventory will be off if the product is sold by footage versus the weight. Remember, product is purchased by the pound. Re-weighing is the only means of accuracy.
