Putnam Area Rapid Transit Bus Information

PART phone number: (845)-878-RIDE Fares: One Way- $2.50, Senior/Disabled (with ID)-$1.25, Children under 13-($1.25), Students (with ID)$1.25. Transfers: Regular- .75, Senior/Disabled- .25. Infants ride free. All fares are exact change only. Monthly Passes: Monthly PART Passes allow unlimited rides during a given month. They are available by calling the number above and cost $75 ($37 for Senior/Disabled). Passes can be picked up at the PART offices, which can be reached by taking PART 3 to 841 Fair St, Carmel NY. How to catch PART bus: Standing on the side of the road the bus is coming on, user must flag down the bus with a wave. PART routes have no fixed stops besides the Putnam Plaza and the JV Mall (PART 2 only). Busses will not stop at certain intersections (312 & Route 22 being the prime example) if it is considered dangerous to do so. On Call Stops: Certain stops are on call, which means the bus will only stop there if requested. For pickup at these stops you must call PART and request service. Major holidays when there will be no PART service: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th Of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. PART busses do not run on Sundays. Route arrival times are approximate. Persons utilizing the system should be at their stop 5 minutes before projected arrival of PART bus. There is no connecting service on this route. Note that there is a 4:50am and 5:50 am bus on weekdays starting at Route 52 and Towners Rd for morning commuters. Connecting Services for PART Routes: Connecting Service from PART 1:

HART: The HART Danbury-Brewster shuttle bus is available from Monday-Friday from 5:50AM-9:19PM. Bus stops at the Brewster Railroad Station on Route 6 (Main Street). This bus will take you into Danbury and free transfers within the HART system are available. Fares: One Way- $1.50, Senior/Disabled-.75, Students-$1.10 Phone Number- (203)-748-2034 Web: www.hartransit.com Metro North Railroad: MNRR is accessible via the Brewster RR Station on Route 6 (Main Street). This service can bring you as far south as Grand Central Station in NYC and as far north as Wassaic. Among the main stops going south are Croton Falls, Katonah, Mount Kisco, Chappaqua, White Plains, Mount Vernon West, Fordham Rd. (The Bronx), Harlem 125th St. and Grand Central. Among the main stops going north are Southeast, Patterson, Pawling, Wingdale, Dover Plains and Wassaic. Fares: One Way peak to Grand Central- $17.75, off peak- $13.25, Senior/Disabled- $8.75 (note: this fare is not available for AM peak trains going south). Be advised that all tickets purchased on the train are subject to an additional surcharge (this surcharge does not apply to Senior/Disabled tickets purchased on the train). Bee Line (Westchester County): the Route 16 local bus (Peekskill/Jefferson Valley/Baldwin Place) connects to stops noted in table above. Fares (Coins only if paying in cash): One Ride- $2.50, Senior/Disabled- $1.25, Paper Transfers are free). You can also pay by using a MetroCard for the same fares as cash. Service is available to Southeast and points south (Westchester/Bronx/NYC) as well as Wassaic and points north. Service for this stop runs less frequently so it is recommended that if going south you should utilize PART 1 and use the Brewster station instead. Note: There is no connecting service for PART 5.
