PSK4U1: SUMMATIVE (FINAL 30%) PORTFOLIO AND STUDENT-LED INTERVIEWS _________________________________________________________ The student's portfolio is a collection of your work that reflects your learning and understanding of many of the key expectations of the course. The portfolio will be used as the foundation of evidence for a 15 -20 minute student led interview near the end of the year to demonstrate personal learning and growth. The interview is worth 10% of the final 30, the other 20% being the exam. Interview questions are provided below to the interview and preparation will be necessary prior to the interviews and handed in at the time of your interview. The collection will include things that we did in the course this year from all the main areas of study in Kinesiology: 1.

Society, Physical Activity, and Sport

(The History, Business and Ethical Issues of physical activity and sport) 2.

Anatomy and Physiology

(the skeletal, muscular, energy, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems and physical activity) 3.

Human Performance and Biomechanics

(Human growth and development, motor learning and skill acquisition, biomechanics theory and concepts, seven principles of Biomechanics and analyzing the efficiency of human movement) 4.

Nutrition, Training, and Ergogenic Aids

(nutrition for human performance, training and human performance and Ergogenic Substances and techniques) Your choices must include 4 meaningful examples of your work from throughout the year, including one portfolio piece from Society, Physical Activity and Sport. Your collection of examples might include: • • • •

Example of your best work Examples that show variety (different focuses of the course) Examples that show growth/learning over time Examples that you would do differently if you could do it a second time

Use the portfolio summary sheet provided to help you organize your collection of evaluated course work. PSK4U1 SUMMATIVE (FINAL 30%) PORTFOLIO SUMMARY SHEET Student Name: ________________________________

(FINAL 30%) STUDENT-LED INTERVIEWS ~ PREPARATION _________________________________________________________ What to bring to the interview:

1. Fill out the portfolio summary sheet detailing your choices of work and their respective focus areas. Interview Questions: Throughout the interview, try to reflect on your collection of examples that we did throughout the course to support your answers in the interview. (Hand in a word processed copy of questions below) 1. What area of study did you enjoy the most and why?

2. Reflect on the key learning’s of the course and discuss how two of your examples selected demonstrate your understanding of the concepts that are associated with a particular key learning(s). You must know and incorporate key learning’s into your discussion 3. Describe what you believe to be the best thing you did throughout the year.

4. Looking at what you have learned and your level of understanding of the field of Kinesiology, which area of study will you best be able to apply to your own life and why? 5. Why did you select the examples of work that you have to represent your portfolio?

6. Is there any other course related accomplishment(s) that you are proud of and would like to share?
