What is Remote First Aid? Remote first aid treatment applies when normal emergency services help is delayed because of: • Distance • Your working situation • Other delays such as disaster
The treatment can be ongoing for hours or even days and therefore requires a more in-depth understanding of patient management and monitoring, communication, evacuation planning and triage. Examples of remote situations include: A worker on the third floor of an office building could be working in a remote situation. A worker in a vehicle, boat. A worker inspecting a power or pipe line where emergency access is restricted. A worker in an extreme environment situation
