Mentoring and Training Support Services OH&S Management understands that the most important part of any Safety Management System is its effective implementation. OH&S Management (Int) Pty Ltd developed the OSH Mentor Services© concept with the aim of assisting businesses to manage the development and implementation of an Occupational Safety and Health management system in their organisation. The OSH Mentor Services© concept evolved as a result of our knowledge of the market and the lack of technical resources available for small and medium sized businesses in the area of Occupational Health and Safety and Injury Management. We believe that the OSH Mentor Services Program will significantly assist small to medium sized businesses to address their day-to-day technical OSH support requirements. We realised there is not enough suitably trained OSH resources industry-wide to support this growing need in these business sectors. In our commercial experience we believe all businesses need a suitably trained internal resource to undertake the basic duties in OSH to ensure the organisation is legal compliant. We have now put together the tools and methodology to help you become self sufficient and support your own business with minimal investment. Which means, you won’t have to be reliant on us for your day-to-day running of your safety management systems. We ensure all clients adopt a ‘best practice’ OSH model for their organisation; We Mentor and Train your appointed (internal) OSH Staff Member(s) throughout the program term; We provide OSH Management Systems and Software (specifically designed to the needs of the organisation) ready to be implemented in the first week of our appointment; We provide the Technical Hardware (PC tablets) to ensure that your OSH staff member(s) has the most up to date technology at their disposal. The PC tablet is provided to your organisation with the SMS / IMS & Training Database Software) pre-loaded ready for immediate use; Formal OSH Action Plan is developed by OH&S Management and Client to set goals and specific action items that must be completed over the duration of program; We Mentor your internal resource(s) over the duration of the program to ensure they achieve suitable level of competency (Includes Hands-on field work with our OSH Consultants in the following areas); -
Completing Site Inspections & Audits; How to conduct induction training / use of web-based packages and training media; Preparing various OSH reports and documentation; Incident Investigation and Injury Management Training and administration and much more…
Client representative will attend a formal OSH Training Course during the program and obtain Certificate on completion; Clients wanting to further their OSH Training will be guided to Certificate IV OSH via TAFE Course. We ensure that the Safety Management System is implemented and undertake regular compliance audits and surveys to monitor performance standards;

Why does My Business Need the OSH Mentor Program?
Occupational Safety & Health Legislation states under (section 19 1a) that; ‘As an employer you must provide and maintain workplaces, plant and systems of work such that, so far as is practicable, to ensure your employees are not exposed to hazards’ It is a legal requirement that all businesses must provide a safe working environment and systems of work for their employees. Additional Modules: Understanding the OSH Software / Document Control Drugs & Alcohol in the Workplace, Fatigue Management and more…
At the completion of each training module the client representatives will undertake a competency-based assessment to verify their understanding of the training content. These will be administered by the OSH Consultant and retained on file as supporting evidence of successful attainment. The program has been designed to give all participants both class room/ office based training as well as on-site field training sessions. Undertaking physical inspections, audits and investigations will give ‘real life’ experience to the client representatives. Under the supervision and direction of our professional OSH Consultants they will experience first-hand how to apply the key skills and concepts they have learnt as part of the classroom sessions. On completion of the twelve (12) modules and assessments, the client representatives will all receive a Certificate of Competency recognising their understanding of key OSH Principles. In addition, we provide full tuition in the OSH Software Systems that are provided as part of the OSH Mentor © Program. We educate the client in the functions, basic management and maintenance requirements of the webbased systems and databases to ensure they are able to operate them effectively when we are not physically on site.
Annual Software upgrades are done by the OSH Consultants as part of the Support Services agreement to ensure that the client has access to the most up to date applications and systems performance.
