A variety of fittings are available. Contact your nearest branch for details. It is advisable to measure approximately 20 tiles on site before battening the roof as the tile sizes can vary during the firing of the clay. Disclaimer: The Coverland Clay tile ranges are sourced from Monier Spain & Portugal. Minimum 8-12 week lead time on all clay tile orders once payment is received. The colour of all illustrations may vary due to the printing process. Coverland recommend that you view actual tile samples before reaching a purchase decision.

Dry Ridge System Dry Ridge roofing refers to the mechanical fixing of the roof ridge and hip-lines without the use of mortar. It requires a Dry ridging roll (Compact Roll or QuickRidge), Ridge Tree and Ridge Clips to install. Traditional mortar bedding is widely used to fix roof ridge and hip lines. Though the initial set-up costs of mortar application may be the driving factor for its popularity, its short life-span particularly in harsh weather conditions urges a more quality and innovative approach to ridge and hip-line applications.

WHY DRY RIDGE? Mortar hardens therefore it does not expand and contract with varying weather conditions or daily temperature variations. Hairline cracks form which eventually increase in size. Rain then penetrates the ridge and hip line through these cracks and cause damage to the interior of the roof. Ongoing rain damage can cause trusses to rot which pose a serious health risk to the occupants of the property. Often maintenance to the ridge and hip-lines use the same mortar method. An over coat of waterproofing is applied on top. This looks unattractive and inevitably leads to future maintenance costs. See the easy time-saving application of the Dry Ridge Rolls on youtube.

5 Compact Roll

5 QuickRidge®

Aluminium compound with venitilating holes 170cm/m covered by fleece. Polyisobutylene side strips with 40% stretch. Adhesive strip with CH-bond Butyl glue.

Non-ventilating woven Polypropylene. Corrugated aluminium foil side strips with 30% stretch. Siliconised release foil with CH-bond Butul glue.

Available colours: Terracotta, Brown and Black

Available colours: Terracotta, Brown and Black Rolls size: 10m x 295mm

Rolls size: 10m x 280mm & 10m x 340mm BENEFITS • Ready to use: No unusual skills and minimal tools required for the roll and stick mechanism. • Time-saving: Approximately 2.5hrs/10m roof versus mortar (approximately 6hrs/10m roof with mortar). • Light-weight: Less demanding than mortar installations and less mess. • Cost-effective: No long-term maintenance associated with mortar bedding. • Secure and weather-proof: Better resistance to wind and water penetration. • High quality, universal design that is aesthetically pleasing.

6 Kro Clip & Ridge Clip

7 Ridge Tree

KRO CLIP Corrosion-resistant spring clips that fix tiles to valleys and hips.

Ridge & hip fixing device which allows optimal alignment of the ridge & hip battens.

RIDGE CLIP Facilitates the rapid and secure fixing of ridge tiles once the Compact Roll/QuickRidge has been applied.

Used in conjunction with Compact Roll/QuickRidge to support the ridge and hip-line batten before Compact Roll/QuickRidge is fixed.

Replaced by V-seal clips in a V-ridge System.

Attached under topmost batten onto counter batten for better airflow. Strong yet pliable with holes for easy fixing using screws.

Cool Roof ® System Radiation through the roof accounts for the largest share of heat transfer through a building and without sufficient insulation heat is also lost through the roof. The Cool Roof System incorporates RadenShield Aluminium barrier to create a consistently comfortable interior temperature throughout the seasons. RadenShield reflects up to 97% of radiant heat entering through the roof. Air circulates up through the Eaves Filler Combs and hot air is released through the ventilating Compact Roll ridge line. The Cool Roof System has been tested to significantly decrease indoor temperature by as much as 10°C. SANS 204 compliant. 80% heat radiation enters through the roof Radenshield™

Energy efficient & cost effective roof performance The type of roof insulation used plays a vital role in reducing the flow of heat transfer within a building. The correct specification significantly impacts on the compliance of the SANS 204 standard, Energy Efficiency in buildings. It also effects the project expenses such as handling, storage, labour and transport costs. Using high volume bulk insulation puts pressure on these expenses. HOW IS IT MEASURED AND CONTROLLED? Insulation material is measured by their ability to reduce the rate of heat flow. The thermal resistance is measured with the R-value. The higher the R-value, the better. It is guided per climatic zone by the SANS 204 EnergyCLIMATIC Efficiency in ZONE MAP Buildings regulation. See the minimum R-value requirements for each region in the table below. Masina

When comparing traditional roof membrane with RadenShield™ Double-sided radiant barrier, RadenShield™ achieves the required R-value for the climatic zone using less bulk insulation volume.
