Our products range from the simple to the complex but all of them help you accomplish your lighting needs in some important way, and many of them are available exclusively from us.
Our products play a part in many productions around the world each year in live theatre, opera, ballet, motion pictures, music tours, and television productions. The chances are good that if you walk into any theatre in New York City, London, or any other major city, that you will see our products in use. Have you considered adding wireless DMX or RDM to some of your products, or just consolidating some of your supply chain issues and getting them under one roof rather than many? CTI has grown to be an experienced manufacturer with a very knowledgeable staff and extensive esoteric lighting experience.
If you are driving up the East Coast from New York City to Boston it’s impossible to miss the bold new lighting on the Stamford, Connecticut train station. The story behind this installation is part of a larger story that is taking place all over the world: LED architectural lighting controlled by wireless DMX. Every municipality wants to be involved with the growing trend of revitialising their central cities with new lighting, controlled in new ways.

Our factory is filled with computerised production machinery and skilled product developers, fabricators, and assemblers. Besides our catalogue products, we presently manufacture a wide range of parts and products for numerous companies in the entertainment and architectural lighting industries. City Theatrical’s SHoW DMX® is the wireless DMX of choice for lighting professionals on Broadway and West End shows, permanent entertainment and architectural installations, major music tours such as the U2 360 Degree Tour, and events like the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremonies. SHoW DMX Neo features the extremely high data fidelity that the multi-award winning SHoW DMX is

SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5 is incredibly easy to use and incredibly affordable, while still offering the quality and advanced features of SHoW DMX Neo technology. SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5 is perfect for the venue or performance where a full featured SHoW DMX system might be too sophisticated or too costly. The SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5 represents a breakthrough in plug-and-play wireless DMX and RDM transmission - a single unit that can be used either as a wireless DMX transmitter or receiver. Set-up couldn’t be simpler with SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5’s instant plugand-play configuration: When a DMX cable is plugged into the SHoW DMX SHoW Baby’s DMX Input, the unit senses the connection and configures itself as a transmitter. If no cable is connected to the DMX Input, the unit configures itself as a receiver. All you need now to set up a SHoW DMX wireless DMX system is two SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5 units and two minutes!

Our SHoW DMX Vero Net Transceiver has all the features of the SHoW DMX Neo Transceiver, minus the fully configurable onboard user interface. It is packaged in a NEMA 4 / IP66 rated enclosure, is designed for outdoor installations with all liquid tight cable entries, and is contractor ready with included mounting bracket and 4.5dBi outdoor omni antenna.
SHoW DMX VERO® TRANSCEIVER Receiver and Transmitters are both set to SHoW ID 117 as indicated by the magenta LED color on front panel.
SHoW DMX NEO® RADIO MODULE FOR OEM cat. no. 5792
The SHoW DMX Neo Radio Module for OEM applications provides a simple and low cost way for manufacturers to add high quality wireless DMX to their products with a single miniature printed circuit board. This very small PCBA incorporates all of its configuration and control functions as well as its RF DMX hardware and firmware and requires very little external hardware, software, or space for direct integration in a host product. All SHoW DMX Neo configuration is done with RDM commands, and the external connection, power, and DMX I/O hardware requirements are minimal. City Theatrical offers complete application materials as well as development hardware kits and reference designs to support your application development.

In addition, the SHoW DMX SHoW Baby 5 system offers five different SHoW IDs which allow users to set up a multi-universe system by adding additional transmitters or to use multiple separate SHoW Baby systems in the same area.

How it works: There are seven indicator LEDs on the front of the SHoW Baby 5. Four indicate signal strength, one indicates whether it is transmitting data, one indicates whether it is receiving data, and one which indicates both the SHoW ID and presence of DMX data. The color of this LED indicates what SHoW ID is being used by that unit. A small indented button on the back, when pushed, cycles through the five available SHoW IDs, and corresponding LED indicator light colors. When Transmitting and Receiving units display the same colors, they are set to the same SHoW ID.

The 5706 SHoW DMX Neo OEM Receiver is a miniature Wireless DMX Receiver PCBA for use in custom designs such as set pieces, props, and costumes, and contains all of the key operating features of the SHoW DMX Neo Receiver. All settings are also configurable via RDM commands from an external RDM controller.

REPEATER PRO 8-Way Opto Splitter Don’t neglect the last mile. Rock solid DMX distribution – and now DMX distribution that supports RDM– is even more important today than ever before. With most lighting systems now using an incredible mixture of gear from a very large number of manufacturers, optosplitters are required for starwiring and for protection against ground loops, common mode voltages and other problems that may emerge.
Along with two AMX192 outputs, the Ultimate Converter will translate DMX into K96, EC-Mux, AVAB, Microplex or Strand D54. Most older protocols can also be translated into DMX, if needed. Built in trouble-shooting tools – critical when working with older systems – allow analysis of incoming signal as well as sending of test signals to downstream devices.
Pathway Repeaters use a time-proven design that includes self-resetting poly-switches for unassisted recovery from electrical faults, and socketed transceiver and opto-coupler chips. The Repeater Pro models support RDM packet traffic, as well as DMX, and will also act as simple RDM controllers. In addition to the standard splitter mode, also included are Hub Mode that autodetects incoming DMX on any port – eliminating DMX patch bays – and a 2-in/7-out Merge Mode. Output speed and signal loss are user-adjustable, and input/output testing tools are standard.
Jens Hillenkotter states: “We had to integrate a multimedia show around an artistic performance. Part of the opening ceremonies included a 75 meter water display in the middle of the Seyhan River in front of the Hilton SA Hotel Adana. We had two nights to program and rehearse the entire opening ceremony around the artistic rehearsals. Strong winds caused delays as the water display could shoot up to 75 meters high which means there are 3.5 tons of water which are coming down somewhere. During setup and tech rehearsals we built the mission control in a suite at the Hilton.

A new concept in dry ice fog. This water-based system is light-weight, portable and durable, allowing you to create large amounts of billowing fog. The Aquafog 3300™ features a durable molded thermoplastic tank for corrosion resistance and light weight. No more rusting steel drums to replace. The large lid lifts for easy loading of the dry ice. Accessory Holders attach to the side of the lighting fixture (using the fixture’s pre-tapped holes) to allow the user to insert a range of accessories. They provide a secure mounting platform, prevent accessories from falling out if the unit is tipped or hung upside down, block any stray spill light from the fixture, and can often accommodate more than one accessory. They are required for mounting any additional accessories to ColorBlaze or ColorBlast fixtures. C

On the second show, Kill Me Now, we were in a ballroom with limited power (only six circuits) so the show needed to be almost all LED. We also had to pack up and break down three times during the tech and run, so wireless DMX was the right choice. I used four units again on this show to run the FOH and to the backstage area. Six circuits and 684 channels of control, all run on SHoW Babys.
The fourth show was Guys And Dolls. With a limited setup time and booms everywhere - we used 11 SHoW Baby units, one at each boom, to control the LED Cygnus sidelights.

City Theatrical, Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that the equipment offered will be free from defects in workmanship and material for a period of two years from date of purchase. During the warranty period, units will be repaired or replaced at the option of City Theatrical, Inc.
Customers requiring repair of their equipment should obtain an RMA# from City Theatrical. Equipment should be suitably packaged, including a note with the owner’s name and address and a description of the reason for return. Ship package prepaid and insured. City Theatrical cannot be responsible for loss or damage in shipment.
The warranty does not extend to any parts of the unit that have been subjected to misuse or accident. Neither does the warranty cover any product that has been modified or repaired at other than an authorized repair station. The warranty will not apply if procedures described in any Operations Manual are not followed.
