LO/PRO ® PACKAGED ODOR CONTROL SYSTEM
Municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment plants supply our growing communities with a vital resource: clean water. In the process of treating our water, some processes generate odorous gases such as hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, or organic compounds. As a good neighbor, often in close proximity to the general public, these facilities must contain and neutralize any odors created. A preferred solution is wet chemical scrubbing. A wet scrubber mixes odorous gases with a stream of liquid chemicals that react with and neutralize the offensive compounds. RJ Environmental Products offers a complete line of wet scrubber odor control systems. By far our most popular, versatile and effective product is the LO/PRO® Packaged Odor Control System. Since its introduction in 1994, the LO/PRO has become the industry leader. It is the result of more than 20 years of experience developing, designing, building and testing wet scrubber systems. To date there are more than 100 LO/PRO scrubber systems in operation worldwide. USFilter sets the standard for odor control technology. Our experience, reputation and product line are unequalled in the industry.

COMBINED H2S AND NH3 REMOVAL
LO/PRO systems have been designed for removal of hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, and other acid gases. Systems can also be configured to remove ammonia and hydrogen sulfide in the same scrubber. In this process, the first stage is maintained at a low pH, and a strongly acidic solution removes more than 99% of the ammonia. In the second and third stages, sodium hydroxide (caustic) and sodium hypochlorite (bleach) in the solution remove more than 99% of the hydrogen sulfide.
CUSTOM DESIGNS
The system chemistry can be configured to remove mercaptans and other odorous organic compounds that cannot be controlled effectively with a conventional caustic and bleach scrubber. We have also designed unique odor control systems that operate at high pressure or high vacuum, systems that treat gases containing up to 50% carbon dioxide and/or methane, and systems that treat concentrations in excess of 60,000 ppm H2S.
