INTRODUCTION Multi-Tech Products (MTP) materials are designed to repair or refinish the surface of plastic bathtubs and spas. Gelcoat polyester resin or acrylic ploymers are common surfaces used for bathware and spas. These become thin layers on top of fiberglass impregnated polyester resin (FRP), or other reinforcing medium. MTP repair products can sometimes be adapted to use for surface repair of other materials. Most plastic spas are produced from acrylic sheet, which is thermoformed and reinforced with FRP or other reinforcing material. MTP sells products to repair minor scratches, blisters, and cracks, and to completely refinish spas and bathtubs. Procedures can be downloaded from multitechproducts.com. The Quick Glaze system is designed to meet the needs of professional repair technicians for “spray and go”repairs. The MMA system is designed to meet the needs of original equipment manufacturers for a spray product that can be buffed and polished after drying. MTP also offers simple do-it-yourself products. Repair of most bathtubs and spas require a filler, one or more basecoats, and a clear topcoat. The basecoats are color matched to be identical to the original color of the bath or spa. Bath colors are generally originated by major sanitaryware manufacturers like Kohler and American Standard. Other plastic bathware manufacturers generally copy those colors. Popular colors do not change significantly over time. In fact, most bathware is either some shade of white or beige. Spa colors are created by sheet manufacturers, and change frequently as color trends change. Even though there is an exact color specification for each standard color, actual finished products are manufactured within a range. This range can be wide enough to create distinguishable color differences when compared side by side. Therefore, professional repair technicians must learn to adjust colors for a better match. MTP provides toner kits for this purpose. BATH COLORS (Gelcoat and Acrylic) There is a very large number of different colors that have been used over the past twenty years to produce bathware; especially, when one considers the variations created by over one hundred manufacturers. Therefore, MTP has found it necessary to define a list of standard colors. This list includes standard products for acrylic and gelcoat bathware. Colors become obsolete when manufacturers discontinue offering new products in the color. Please refer to our website for a visual representation of each color. When ordering repair products, it is very helpful to know the bathware manufacturer, since it facilitates selection of a product with the best color match. Additional helpful information follows. •

Acrylic bathtubs are generally produced from products from two sheet manufacturers, Lucite(R) or Aristech. It is helpful to know which manufacturer supplied the OEM manufacturer, and their color idescription for the product.

PROFESSIONAL REPAIR KIT PRICES

Multi-Tech Products acrylic surface repair kits include small and large sizes in Quick Glaze, MMA, and Granite products. The small kits contain sufficient material to repair a 5 inch long crack or a single, average (2” diameter) size blister. The large kit contains sufficient material to repair three 15” long cracks or about five average size blisters. Prices also vary with color group. Color groups are whites ( any standard shade), pastels, bolds, pearlescent, marbles, granites, and mineral/lustre colors. In addition, we offer some custom and obsolete colors at a premium price. These prices require that we have matched the color in the past. Please inquire about prices for new custom colors. Please refer to standard color lists for appropriate price class. MMA System Kits - Designed primarily for needs of original equipment manufacturers that require a surface to accommodate buffing and polishing. Spa kits contain the acrylic filler and the highest performance clear topcoat (K2000). Bath kits contain an improved polyfiller and Quick Glaze clear topcoat. QUICK•GLAZE® System Kits - Designed for the needs of repair professionals needing a “spray-and-go” repair

system. This ystem does not require buffing and polishing, when used in a clean environment, to achieve beautiful, glossy finishes. The spa kits contain acrylic filler and the high performance clear topcoat. Bath kits contain the polyfiller and QUICK•GLAZE® topcoat.
