Preston Bailey Final Project

Inspiration These two images from Preston Bailey’s board remind me of old classic tales with a touch of modern outlook. I have always felt that black & white colors are mysteriously inspirational, bold and striking. It can suit a summer vintage wedding just as perfectly as contemporary city celebrations. Pink is always in season and not just a color, but its an Attitude. It can be youthful, fun and exciting. Designing possibilities with a mix of these three colors are endless.

A Classic wedding saga

Venue and floor plan

When seeking a venue with the romance of the past and the convenience of the present, we thought that the Wedgewood Jefferson Street Mansion, Benicia, CA would be a best choice. It will be a day you and your guests will never forget. The ceremony will be held outdoor and reception indoor. Outdoor wedding ceremony floor plan

Color palette I always like to play around with color palettes to see if I can put a new twist on an old palette. I have decided to go with a palette of black, white and a hint of coral pink for eclectic style of designing this wedding.

Anticipation Invitation envelopes will be in plain gorgeous classic black with black and white stripe pattern overlaid with florals in lush shades of pink envelope liners

The save-the-date card will be written in vintage calligraphy with black and white pictures of the couple on a black matte background. It will be creating an emotional anticipation to the guests that the wedding will be in a classic style with mild contemporary touch

Arrival The bride and groom will be arriving in vintage cars.

There will be a polaroid camera at the entrance and the a note will be left on a frame asking the guests to take a picture and stick it in the album with their warm wishes.

Little different than the traditional wedding, there will not be escort cards as the guests can pick up any seat. The aisle will be set with a white runner with a black damask graphic print on it.

Atmosphere The pathway for the guests, bride and groom will be set with wooden arches draped with white chiffon fabrics. On the arches and branches will be black lanterns hung with pink peonies, roses and green floral arrangements. At the back of the riser will be rectangle arch with floral decor onto one top corner. The arch will also be draped with white chiffon fabrics. Round tables will be laid with black sequined table drapes, coral pink napkins and acrylic chairs. Satin Coral pink bows will be tied to the chairs. Centerpieces will be white and black ceramic vases with lush floral arrangements. Tall black candelabras will be definitely creating more enhancement to the setting. Wall draperies and ceiling treatment will be done with white fabrics. For lighting hanging chandeliers and pin spotting will dramatically transform the venue. As a signature element, a large luscious floral pink parasol will be erected with black and white striped background at the entrance.

Appetite The dinner will be serve-in-style with an Italian menu. The plate ware will be in white and black china with serve ware in gold.

The wedding cake will be three tiered matching the whole setting with black and white stripes. Pink floral fondants will be placed diagonally.

Entertainment

There will be a live band with classic wedding songs will be part of the entertainment. The dance floor will be with striped with black and white. Pictures can be taken under our signature floral parasol with props.

Appreciation A black and white monogrammed Christmas ornaments with personalized message would make one of the beautiful return gifts. Pillow boxes matching the color theme will also be given as a gift of tokens.

Design Idea 2 Rich royal blue and a beautiful green. From my childhood, I was always amazed with the exuberant colors of peacock and how mesmerizingly it dances when its about to rain. These two images with beautiful, luscious green and a magnificent peacock inspires me with a wedding in the monsoon season.

Peacocks are pure of heart. They pair with a mate and are loyal and faithful to their partners. They are also a symbol of beauty, prosperity, royalty, love and compassion reminding us to take pleasure in life. What can be more inspiring than this to connect with a wedding theme?

A mystic love story

Venue Small town, Big experience! Napa valley weddings have their style of their own for outdoor weddings. Whether it’s a brisk winter day or a warm summer evening, each season brings its own sense of romance when you are in The Meadow wood, Napa valley, CA. An experience as magical as a wedding deserves and every bit as splendid. The wedding ceremony and reception are going to be outdoors.

Floor Plans

Color palette If you ever had look at the peacock feather’s intricate color combinations, it will inspire you with luscious color scheme adding so much creativity in your designing. The mix of cobalt blue, turquoise, brown, gold, and green create an amazingly stunning palette.

I love to experiment having mismatched colors when I design my events too. The darker hues also look beautiful when highlighted with white roses and green hydrangeas.

We decided to go with an Asian eclectic style of designing this wedding with Royal blue and gold as primary colors.

Anticipation This peacock authentic feather design on the cards will create a special touch to your wedding invitations. With lovely graphics of a royal blue tone flourish up the left side with a colorful peacock feather. Each invitation comes with a laser cut gold envelope. This elegant invitation card gives a feel of a royal anticipation to the guests.

Arrival We wanted this wedding to look like a royal love story. At the entrance there will be gold doors where there will be a direction posted onto which side to go.

On the escort table there will be cards to pick up and drop in the warm wishes note for the couple. On the way to one side will be a huge prop of a book on which the journey of the couple is written.

Atmosphere The atmosphere will all be set in gold, royal blue and purple tone. The alter will be set with four poles to which floral bunches and garlands will be hanged with gold drapes. White lilies, purple and blue orchids, green hydrangeas and peacock feathers as enhancements will be used as part of the floral décor. The aisle will be set with white rose petals on the grass. To provide a grandeur look, seating arrangements will be with round tables, satin royal blue table clothes, gold chivalry chairs and gold framed cushioned couches will be laid. Centerpieces will be gold toned tall and small gold vases with rich floral arrangements and candelabras. Ceiling trellis will be hung green chandeliers. As a signature element a huge floral peacock will be placed inside a golden frame.

Appetite The dinner will be in buffet style with Thai menu. The plate ware will be white china with gold rim and golden cutlery.

To create unique effects we will place the drinks on a swing twined with floral and green garlands.

Cake will be two-tiered with rich royal blue and gold in color with purple flowers on the top.

Amusement DJ booth will be set on one side with uplighted background playing couple’s favorite song tracks. Guests and the couple can enjoy on a white dance floor with gold monogramming.

Guests can be kept entertained and engaged with some fun couple games.

Appreciation As a token of appreciation, a gold candle with peacock feather design and blue embellishments and a chocolate gold box with a feather print on the top will be given to the guests.
