Precision & Laboratory Equipment

CALIBRATION & REPAIR SERVICES Our purpose-built UKAS accredited calibration laboratory and repair provides a Calibration workshop repair and calibration service for a wide range Service dimensional Available of measuring equipment and torque tools. The calibration Laboratory occupies an area of over 100 square metres on an isolated vibration free floor and is environmentally controlled to 20°C ± 0.5°C to provide the necessary conditions for accurate measurement and calibration. The Laboratory conforms to International Standard BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories). We can offer fast turnaround on calibration together with the back up of a repair workshop, with extensive stocks of spare parts and replacement equipment.

PROCEDURES

... SERVICING QUALITY BRANDS

Calibration procedures used are documented and UKAS approved. All equipment submitted for calibration is cleaned, inspected and prepared prior to calibration. Minor burrs, which may be detrimental to calibration, are removed. If an item is found unsuitable for calibration at this stage, a quotation for repair/service or replacement may be issued. Otherwise the item will be returned as received uncalibrated. Generally, calibration is carried out to the current issue of the relevant British or International Standard, or manufacturer's specification, where available.

ON SITE CALIBRATION The calibration of large surface tables and high-resolution electronic digital height gauges, can be carried out 'on site' at the customer's premises. A quotation for this work can be obtained via your local branch.

TORQUE TOOLS As well as a wide range of dimensional measuring equipment the Metrology division is able to service/repair and calibrate most brands of torque wrenches and torque screwdrivers. We can calibrate and issue UKAS certificates for wrenches up to and including 1000 Newton-metres (750 foot pounds).

CERTIFICATION Certificates issued are UKAS accredited unless agreed otherwise. The current issue of our UKAS scope may be viewed by visiting the web site; www.ukas.org (Laboratory no. 0244) or by contacting the Laboratory direct. 'In House' traceable certificates can be issued on certain specific items which do not fall within our UKAS scope. Calibration work is carried out to the stringent requirements of our quality system and certificates are traceable to national standards via traceable equipment certification. The customer would be informed of this option before any work is carried out. Note: 'In House' certificates are not accredited or assessed by any outside organisation (e.g. UKAS). All calibration prices are inclusive of certificates.

39mm Diameter Face Series 513 Large dial face for easy reading with the installed 2mm (.08”) diameter point carbide tipped. These indicators are ruggedly housed within a satin chrome finished case. Bezel and dial are adjustable for easy zero setting with fully jewelled movements. Automatic reversible contact point is adjustable through 240°. The precision miniature pivot bearings give a frictionless movement of the contact point. One piece bezel of crystal design ensures resistance to water and dust.

Series 513 9.5mm body for narrow lands between shoulders or in a bore. With jewelled bearings and precision miniature pivot bearings for almost friction-free movement of the contact point. Contact point is reversible by lever allowing measurement of the top or bottom surface of any workpiece. Bezel and dial face are fully adjustable.

The New Generation of NC axis gauging equipment, for quick, accurate setting of all three axes (X, Y, Z) by analogue differential indicator. Suitable for all machine tools with CNC, NC or DRO and also for EDM/spark erosion tools - the stylus is electrically insulated from the spindle. Universal - one tool measures length, height, diameter and centre. The synchronous single needle allows greater needle displacement before reaching ‘12 o'clock’. 29mm 11/8” Dial Diameter Suitable for rapid, accurate measurement of size, concentricity, wear, taper, etc., in a wide range of bores. For workshop and inspection use. All models have one fixed and one moving anvil and a self-adjusting centre shoe. A ‘datum point’ can be set by using a setting ring of a known diameter or a micrometer. ‘ Zero’ the gauge to this datum point by rotating the bezel to align ‘zero’ with the indicator. To check a bore is within tolerance, the limit hands can be fixed as required. All anvils are spring loaded to expand into the bore. For accurate reading ensure the stem of the gauge is parallel to the axis of the bore. This can be checked by ‘rocking’ the gauge back and forth until the smallest diameter is found. All models have inter-changeable anvils to cover a range of bore sizes.
