PRE FEASIBILITY FOR CLAY MINE

1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Bhurabhai Ibrahimbhai Pathan admeasuring 2.6

has a applied for the Bricks manufacturing in area

Hectares located at, Village : Hisor , Taluko : Siddhpur, District : Patan

Gujarat. With following references, the application by (Bhurabhai Ibrahimbhai Pathan) is under process and the Brick Manufacturing may be granted subject to several conditions, one of which shall be getting prior Environmental Clearance from State Environment Impact Assessment Authority. Enclosure: 1. Annexure 1: Plant Layout 2. Annexure 2: 7/12 Nakal

2. THE PROJECT/ BACKGROUND INFORMATION Introduction to the Project and Project Proponent Name of the Project: NOORI BRICKS Mining Area: 2.6 Hectares Lease Area: 2.6 Hectares Type of Mineral: Clay Location:, Village : Hisor , Taluko : Siddhpur, District : Patan Gujarat. 2.1 Nature of the Project In the project under consideration, the mining shall be done by open cast method by formation of benches. The mineral is our cropping rock; the height of bench proposed shall be 0.5 m. One bench of 1.0-2.0 m height in over burden is proposed. The width of each is proposed not less than height. 2.2 Need for the Project The proposed mining project falls in the Patan District. Due to ground water scarcity, the earning source of Patan is limited. Most of the people are dependent on agriculture. The mining project will be done on Non –Agricultural land. For such type of mining project, the survey is being carried out by Geology Department of government to evaluate the probable reserve. Sand is composed largely of mineral calcite and is an important material for masonary and architecture. These natural clay from India are generally used in flooring, wall cladding , vanity tops and to pave the floors of large

commercial complexes, hospitals, airports,

shopping malls, railway station, parks etc. The proposed Bricks Manufacturing project falls in the Patan District.Infrastructure development growth is very good in all over Gujarat: the produce bricks are basic raw material for infrastructure development to meet the market requirement a project is needed. 2.3 The Demand and Supply Gap Due to natural Geology and historical presence to sea/estuary, the clay is vastly available in the Patan and South Gujarat Region. Depending upon the quantity /strength of the material, it can be sued as chemical/cement grade. The material, which is not usable in any of this , shall be used as Natural clay. The ordinary clay mining largely used in the Patan and south Gujarat region for construction activity at House/office and even commercial complexes. The material being manufactured at this project shall be consumed within the area of vicinity. 2.4 Export Possibility No possibility of Export a Bricks.

2.5 Employment Generation due to Project About 12 workers or labours and 3 management /office staff directly or indirectly involved in this mining project. However, for odd jobs like sweeping, plantation and loading/unloading etc, female workers shall also be employed. 3. 3.3 Size and Magnitude of the operation: The proposed project is Bricks Manufacturing in 2.6 Ha. The production shall be approximately 6000 MTPM. 3.4 Regional Geography: This region is comparatively flat land and is surrounded by agricultural lands. Not many varieties of the geological formations observed in the region. The ordinary clay is naturally occurring in the region. 3.5 Proposed Method of Mining At very initial stage; the overburden and/or top soil need to be removed. The overburden shall be removed with the help of heavy excavation equipment like, JCB, Hitachi and like for excavator. As this type of clay is low grade and need to be used in Brick manufacturing activity. After removal of top soil and/or over burden, the excavation will be carried out with the help of the local labour.

3.6 Raw Materials and Product details: The project under consideration is project for manufacturing of bricks so need of four type of raw material will use like sand, saw dust, & fly ash. The final product will be Bricks which shall be marketed directly by road to various destinations. 8|Page

3.7 Resource Optimization and Recycling /reuse in the project For this type of project, resource optimization can be considered as there is four type of raw material will use like sand clay, saw dust & fly ash. Further, no Recycling /reuse can be implemented in this type/scale of project. 3.8 Water / Energy consumption and source Total water consumption

3.9 WASTE GENERATION AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM 3.9.1 Wastewater Management Wastewater shall be only generated from domestic use which is directly gone to soak pit. No generation of waste water from mining operation. 3.9.2 Solid waste management 1. Top Soil Top soil (approximately 0.1 m) occurs over a small patch over area proposed for mining. Also in sand deposit there occur some clayee material enclosed in solution holes and cavities. Such clayee material wherever significant will be collected and reuse in process.

2. Overburden/waste There is no overburden, as such small quantity of 5 % of unrecoverable mineral considered as loss in mining will be generated as a waste.

3.9.3 Air Quality Management During the operation of Manufacturing of bricks generation of fly ash, there are chances of generation of fugitive emission. This is controlled by settling chamber.

5. PROJECT PLANNING BRIEF 5.1 Planning Concept  This is a Bricks manufacturing project.  Mining of clay Mining shall be carried out by operation of help of local labour.  The project shall be carried out in 2.6 Ha.  Open cast method of mining will be done by trucks by road.  Other facilities like power, transportation and communication infrastructure facilities are locally available near project site.

5.2 Employment Protection  The project is micro level enterprise. Hence, the magnitude of impact is negligible.  No influx of population is anticipated as only local labor shall be deployed.  About 12 Worker or labours, 1 supervisor and 1 management/office staff directly and or indirectly involved in this mining project.

5.3 Land Use Planning, Approximate land use is as following for life of mine. Sr.No

5.4 Resources and Infrastructure Management 1. Physical Infrastructure The road facility is already available which shall be used and maintained. The labour requirement is drawn from nearby villages, which shall be also trained for requirement in mines. 2. Social Infrastructure This is a micro/small level enterprise. Hence, only social activity envisaged shall be employment generation, directly and/or indirectly. 6. PROPOSED INFRASTRUCTURE 6.1 Admin Office An office cum-store shall be constructed near working pit. 6.2 Housing/Colony No Resident area is proposed as there is only local employment. 6.3 Green Belt To improve the environment of the area it is proposed to plant 100 trees every year outside the area. 6.4

Social Infrastructure

The entire requisite infrastructure required for mine shall be developed. This project is providing jobs to people directly and some indirectly. 6.5 Connectivity National and State Highway is available for transportation.

12 | P a g e

6.6 Water Management Water requirement of 2.0 m3/Day will be fulfilled by well/bore-well within/nearby mining lease area.

6.7 Sewage System Sewage Generated from domestic sources will be directly disposed off to soak pit. 6.8 Solid Waste Management Spoil material from sand mining will be generated which will be used for filling up low lying area. It is also proposed that remaining waste will be used by local people either for making and maintaining roads or as filler for the foundation of the house at no cost. 6.9 Air Quality Management During the operation of manufacturing of Bricks, there are chances of generation of fugitive emissions . This is controlled by settling chamber. 7. Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Plan Project is in the Hisor Village , Patan District, Gujarat and very small in magnitude so , no R &R plan is required as no displacement of people is proposed for the mining project.

8. Project Schedule and Cost Estimation This project is a domestic type of project and can be put to operation within 10-15 days after the required permissions/clearances from competent authority. The installation approximate cost of the project at initial stage shall be approximated to Rs 17 Lakhs, and the payback can be anticipated within 3 Years if the site works at full capacity.
