PPC’S SMART PRACTICE AIDS HELP To see the Help options, click the Help menu.

From the Help drop-down menu, you have the following options: • • • • • • • •

SMART Practice Aids Help – Access the Welcome screen and the SMART Help Table of Contents. Quick Tour – This application walks you through key SMART Practice Aids features and functionality in the Risk Assessment, Disclosure and Internal Control modules. Show Me Demos – This option gives access to short demonstrations for various SMART Practice Aids functions. Documentation – Access a variety of documentation tools, such as user guides, quick reference cards and frequently asked questions. Support on the Web – Access the online Customer Help Center for PPC products. Frequently Asked Questions – View common questions in several categories that will help you be successful in using SMART Practice Aids. Reset All Tips – Reset all tips to display in every SMART Practice Aids module. About – See the version numbers of the individual SMART Practice Aids modules you have

SMART PRACTICE AIDS HELP Select SMART Practice Aids Help to display the SMART Table of Contents in the left pane and opened topics in the right pane:

Search Help: To conduct a search on the Help database, click the Search tab in the left panel, type a keyword for an item you want to search for, and then click Search. Click any of the related topics that are displayed to view the topic in the right pane.

QUICK TOUR Select Quick Tour from the Help menu. This will take you to Tax & Accounting Product Training website.

Click Get Learning to see many of the key features and functionality of the various SMART Practice Aids modules.

SHOW ME DEMOS Select Show Me Demos from Help menu to access SMART Show Me Demos in a new browser window.

Select a Demo from the left panel and click View Demo.

RESET ALL TIPS Throughout SMART Practice Aids, you will see several tips with helpful information specific to the section you're working in. You can also specify which modules will display tips. Whenever you want to re-enable the tips for all sections, click Reset All Tips from the Help menu.

CONTEXTUAL HELP In addition to the regular Help system, throughout SMART Practice Aids you will find context-sensitive help at the relevant moment of need. For example, to help you decide which fields to complete or which radio buttons to select, you can click the blue link next to the field or radio button, and a pop-up will display relevant information about your selection, such as a definition or how and why the information is used to complete a task. In the example below, when you click Benchmark, the following explanation opens:

This is a preview tool, and in the following example, when you click the icon to the right of the Planning Materiality field, you will see the planning materiality amount and the formula used to compute that amount:

To see a preview of an item, click the

icon next to it.

DIALOGUE BOXES AND HELP ME DECIDE Throughout SMART Practices Aids, dialog boxes help guide you through the processes.

Whenever you’re not sure of the next course of action, you often have a Help me decide, which provides additional instructions, plus questions and answers that help you make decisions about a task.

In this example, make a selection, click Next, and the first step in the process opens for you:
