Apex has 15 car rental branches conveniently located throughout New Zealand, with 10 location currently in Australia. Branches are located at the main airport locations and are complimented by city and regional locations throughout the countries. Overview of Position The Yard Manager will be accountable for all vehicle logistics within a branch or region of Apex New Zealand. In addition, they are responsible for managing the delivery of vehicles to the customers, meeting the standards for presentation and cleanliness. They will ensure that in managing the teams of Vehicle Service Agent we are applying the best practice processes and procedures for the roles, realising efficiencies and with full consideration to OHS requirements. The Yard Manager will ensure that all vehicles move through the repair processes, mindful of minimizing downtime and quality of presentation. The Yard Manager will also be responsible to ensure sufficient fleet is on hand (liaising with Fleet Manager) to fill allocation required by reservations.

Key Responsibilities Leading the back of house teams (including VSA’s and Ferry drivers) in the delivery of the grooming and vehicle movements in line with the Apex policies and procedures. Liaison with Learning and Development Coordinator to refine processes related to vehicle grooming and drive continuous improvement in the processes Conducting all OTJ Training (On the Job) for the Wash Bay team. Coordinating all vehicle storage and movements in and out. Accountability for the cars at hand, including stock takes and record keeping. Ancillary stock control, including baby seats, GPS, Wi-Fi units and any other products introduced. Responsible for the registration and continuance of required COFs and Regos on vehicles for the location. Fleet allocation as required to meet reservations. This extends to include liaison with Fleet Manager in the planning of movements around seasonality and demand. On and Off Fleeting of additions and deletions including Sale Vehicles. Liaison with Workshop Manager and co-ordination of repair scheduling based on priority. Efficiently managing the fleet through the logistics of the damage repair process. This includes organizing glass and screen repairs and replacement, movements to and from repairers and the minimization of vehicle down time. Liaison with the Claims Manager and suppliers. Data entry and reporting associated with the job functions. Raising of Orders and completion of processes for the purpose of purchasing. Actively promote Apex Vision, Values and Culture.
