To protect against electrical shock do not allow any part of unit to get wet.

4.

Closely supervise children when this product is in operation. Because this Blower/ Heater may be very hot during use, never allow children to play with, or around this product at any time.

5.

Unplug from outlet when not in use. Always allow to cool before attaching or removing the Heating Unit (11). Always store this product out of reach of children.

6.

Do not operate this Blower/Heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Have this appliance taken to the nearest qualified service technician for examination, repair, or adjustment.

7.

Do not use outdoors.

8.

Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

9.

Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

10.

Always plug Blower/Heater into outlet before turning on switch. To disconnect, first turn switch to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.

11.

Do not use this Blower/Heater for other than intended use.

12.

This Blower/Heater has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not change the plug in any way.

13.

Do not plug anything other than the Heating Unit (11) that comes with this Portable Blower into the Receptacle (28) attached to the Blower Housing.

14.

Maintain labels and nameplates on the appliance. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.

15.

Maintain a safe environment. Keep the work area well lit. Make sure there is adequate surrounding airspace. Always keep the work area free of obstructions and other debris. Do not use this product in a damp or wet location.

16.

Do not operate the Blower/Heater near draperies, curtains, and walls. These flammable materials may catch fire.

17.

Always unplug the Blower/Heater from its electrical outlet and allow to cool completely before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures.

18.

Heater contains bare heating element. To prevent electric shock: Do not open heater housing. Do not touch heating element with any object, especially not a conductive object. REV 07j

19.

Before first use and after every use, thoroughly dust the appliance and wipe down with a clean, soft, slightly damp cloth. Dry completely before plugging in.

20.

People with pacemakers should consult their physician(s) before use. Electromagnetic fields in close proximity to heart pacemaker could cause pacemaker interference or pacemaker failure.

21.

The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.

Save these Instructions. Power Cord Safety 1.

A short power supply cord is to be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

2.

Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.

3.

If a long extension cord is used, a. the marked electrical rating of the (detachable power supply cord or) extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, b. if the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding type 3-wire cord, and c. the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

Assembly Note: This Portable Blower with Heater comes assembled. For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following pages, refer to the Assembly Diagram at the end of this manual. NOTE: Always unplug this Portable Blower with Heater before performing step 1 below. 1.

It is possible to disassemble the Heating Unit (11) from the Blower unit. Unplug Heating Unit (11) from Receptacle (28), then place fingers of one hand on top of Heating Unit (11) with thumb on bottom and squeeze. The Heating Unit (11) will unsnap and you can pull it away from the Blower.

The Blower may be used as a stand alone unit for air circulation. Figure 1

Blower

To reassemble the Blower and Heating Unit (11), reverse the process in step 1. This may take a bit of practice as the Heater needs to be positioned in exact position before it will snap into place. This job is best done using both hands, being careful not to pinch fingers. Be sure to plug the Heating Unit (11) back into Receptacle (28).

Operation 1.

Before using, make sure the Blower/Heater’s ON/OFF Switch (21) is turned off and the unit is unplugged.

2.

Place the Unit on a flat, smooth surface near an electrical outlet and plug the Portable Blower with Heater into a 120 V~ electrical outlet. The blower unit can be oriented so that the air flow is angled upward or downward.

3.

If you use the Blower/Heater as just an air mover, it is best to remove the Heating Unit (11). This is a safety precaution even though the Heating Unit (11) will not turn on if the Blower is not on. Always unplug the Blower/Heater before removing the Heating Unit (11), or replacing it onto the Blower.

4.

The Blower/Heater is used to move air for cooling, or if the Heating Unit (11) is attached, for heating up a large space rapidly.

5.

To adjust the angle of air flow, shut off the blower, pull on the Ring (29) on the side of the blower opposite the motor and rotate the Case (16) to the desired position. Release the Ring (29) and allow the pin to lock back in place before use.

6.

If you want to use the Heating Unit (11) with the Blower, re-attach the Heating Unit (11) as discussed in step 3 under “Assembly”, on page 5.

7.

When finished using the Portable Blower with Heater, turn off the ON/OFF Switch (21)

8.

WARNING! Let the Portable Blower with Heater cool down completely before moving or storing and NEVER store close to combustibles.

9.

WARNING! THIS PORTABLE BLOWER WITH HEATER COMES WITH THERMAL OVERLOAD PROTECTION. SHOULD THE HEATING UNIT (11) REACH A TEMPERATURE OF 230° FAHRENHEIT IT WILL TURN OFF UNTIL IT COOLS DOWN. IT WILL NOT MELT THE UNIT HOUSING.

10.

WARNING! AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION, THE HEATING UNIT (11) SHOULD NOT TURN ON IF THE BLOWER UNIT IS OFF. IF THE HEATING UNIT (11) DOES TURN ON AND THE BLOWER ON/OFF SWITCH (21) IS IN THE OFF POSITION, DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY AND HAVE THE UNIT SERVICED BY A QUALIFIED SERVICE TECHNICIAN. DO NOT USE THE PORTABLE BLOWER WITH HEATER UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED.

NOTE: This Portable Blower with Heater has a Power Receptacle (28) for use ONLY with the Heating Unit (11).

INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING 1.

WARNING! Make sure the ON/OFF Switch (21) is in its “OFF” position and that the appliance is unplugged from its electrical outlet and allowed to cool before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures.

BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the appliance. Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use damaged equipment.

LIMITED 90 DAY WARRANTY Harbor Freight Tools Co. makes every effort to assure that its products meet high quality and durability standards, and warrants to the original purchaser that this product is free from defects in materials and workmanship for the period of 90 days from the date of purchase. This warranty does not apply to damage due directly or indirectly, to misuse, abuse, negligence or accidents, repairs or alterations outside our facilities, criminal activity, improper installation, normal wear and tear, or to lack of maintenance. We shall in no event be liable for death, injuries to persons or property, or for incidental, contingent, special or consequential damages arising from the use of our product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation of exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty is expressly in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness. To take advantage of this warranty, the product or part must be returned to us with transportation charges prepaid. Proof of purchase date and an explanation of the complaint must accompany the merchandise. If our inspection verifies the defect, we will either repair or replace the product at our election or we may elect to refund the purchase price if we cannot readily and quickly provide you with a replacement.
