Ponco’s Experience ● Provided experienced drilling crews for multiple Drilling units in Indonesia ● Crews familiar with 3rd generation Jackups to 5th Generation semisubmersibles and even drill ships too ● provided crews to rigs even outside Indonesian waters, Australia, Zoca, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Egypt, etc ● Ponco employees have been promoted from Ponco to direct client employment including senior drilling positions being obtained up to the 5th gen rig OIM level ● Ponco has provided Mechanical, Electrical and construction maintenance staff on long term and ad-hoc basis for many rig projects ● Provided proven remote location support which has in Balikpapan, Jambi, Surabaya, Sorong, Fak Fak etc

SUPRACO-PARKER DRILLING – (SORONG – Papua) Ponco was awarded the labour contract on Parker Rig-46 in Drilling operations with Phillips Petroleum at Salawati. We also acted as local representation for Parker in Sorong for local purchases and formalities for expat crew changes. This Rig contract started in May 1983 and went on to Petroleum Trend across the Sele Straight until 1984.

P.T. USAYANA - CIREBON, WEST JAVA On September 1983, P.T. Usayana contracted out a Rig to Pertamina Unit III in Cirebon with P.T. Inaga Kaimana Raya as sub-contractor. P.T. Ponco has a Management Agreement with P.T. Inaga to handle the labour and the catering on this Rig.

Zapata North Sea Inc. In 1981, the ship Investigator moved location for Phillips Petroleum to Balikpapan with Union Oil and P.T. Ponco’s service contract moved to Balikpapan also. Zapata acquired a new rig in Jakarta and P.T. Ponco Susetyo Sakti was awarded the labour contract for the Enterprise, a Jack-up. In October 1981, Zapata requested for 2 crew from us to pick up their Jack-up Rig “Heritage” in Singapore and ride it back to the Java Sea and eventually to supply the labour on this rig as well. This increased our service contract for Zapata, to a three-rig operation – 2 in the Java Sea, and 1 on Balikpapan.

Zapata Drilling Barge Rig-11, the “Investigator” started drilling for Phillips Petroleum Company offshore in Irian Jaya and P.T. Ponco Susetyo Sakti won the contract to supply labour on board the drill-ship.

Robray Offshore Drilling PONCO again won a contract to service their Heli Rig- 4, for Amoseas in Nauka near Merauke (South Papua) for a two-well contract and these operations lasted from July 1980 through February 1981.

1974-1978

Phillips Petroleum Company Indonesia (Sorong – PAPUA) In mid 1974, Phillips started drilling again in Irian Jaya, this time closer to offshore Sorong, first with the Rowan IV and later again with Gettysburg, which made it a two-rig operation. Ponco Jaya was officially appointed the local agent for Phillips Petroleum to liaison with PERTAMINA and local authorities in Sorong, and to coordinate the expat crew changes for the two rigs. Ponco Jaya was also responsible for refuelling/water barges, crew/supply boats that were plying to and from rig site in Sorong. We were also responsible to coordinating the two helicopters that were assigned to assist in the drilling operation of the two rigs.

Robray Offshore Drilling Company (Salawati Island – PAPUA) Towards the end of 1974, drilling onshore Salawati in Sorong was started by Phillips, with the Robray Heli Rig – 4. Ponco Jaya won the contract to supply Robray with the labour requirements to build the Phillips base camp on Salawati Island and to clear and construct jungle locations for the rig. At times, these led to 2 or 3 jungle locations and the labor requirements came to about 600 men, all working in the dense swampy jungle. This contract lasted for about 4 years till 1978, when our contract was transferred directly with Phillips Petroleum and Ponco Jaya.

P.T. Baroid Indonesia (Sorong – Papua) In 1975, Ponco Jaya became agents and distributors for P.T. Baroid Indonesia in Irian Jaya. This agency required the provision of equipment (Forklifts and Crane) and running management of 3 warehouses on Doom Island as a mini supply base. The job required distribution/delivery of mud materials to Phillips in Salawati, Petromer Trend in Sele, Conoco and Total in Charlie Base Bintuni, and Amoseas in Merauke – all Irian Jaya jungle drilling locations.

Dowell Schlumberger (Eastern) Inc. (Sorong – Papua) In 1976, Dowell awarded Ponco Jaya a one-year contract similar to Baroid from our mini supply base, and later again in 1980, we were awarded the similar job, including the contract to build and operate a field bulk plant and warehouse at Phillips base camp in Salawati Island, Irian Jaya.
History - 1978 ● Fa. Ponco Jaya became a limited company, and changed the name to P.T. Ponco Susetyo Sakti retaining the same and ownership as well as management, operating the same contracts as described above.
History – 1974 to 1972 1973-1974 ●Atwood Oceanics International S.A. ( Ambon – Molucas ) “The Gettysburg” and the “Regional Enterprise” were farmed out to Phillips Petroleum Company Indonesia to drill in South-west Irian Jaya. Ponco Jaya was assigned the same contract by Atwood and Phillips, except that this time the operation was based in Ambon, the capital of South Molucas, Indonesia. 1972 –1973 ●Atwood Oceanics International S.A. ( Biak – PAPUA ) Atwood was drilling for Tesoro Petroleum Corporation offshore Japen Island, North Irian Jaya, and we were contracted to supply about 80 nationals to the Atwood Drilling Barge, “The Gettysburg”, and their floating wareship, the “MV Regional Enterprise”. The positions filled were drilling crews, crane operators, roustabouts, sailor and catering personnel on the two vessels. ●Tesoro Petroleum Corporation ( Biak – PAPUA ) Tesoro assigned us the handling of expat crew changes, formalities with local authorities and liaison with the BKKA PERTAMINA in Sorong. Other work assigned were the expediting and storage of drilling materials to and from the rig site.
