21 PLM 21.1 PLM-RM

Product Lifecycle Management Recipe Management

21.1.1 Locking Concept in the Workbench (Enhanced) Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), you can make settings in the workbench that require users to save when they have changed an object and want to open another object. The system removes the locks on all previously opened objects each time you save, so this helps you reduce the number of locked objects. Effects on Customizing You make these settings in Customizing for the Workbench under Set Up Workbench. See also For more information about the locking concept, see SAP Library for the Environment, Health and Safety or Recipe Management components under Locking of Objects in the Workbench.

21.1.2 Checks for Switching Status (New) Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), you can define checks that the system runs when you change the status of a specification in the recipe workbench. With these checks you can ensure, for example, that all substances in a recipe are released before you can release the recipe. Effects on Customizing You set up the checks in Customizing for Recipe Management under Set Up Checks for Switching Status.

21.1.3 Changes to the IMG Structure in Recipe Management and Trial Management Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), the structures of the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Recipe Management and Trial Management have changed. You have to regenerate the project IMGs to transfer these changes to them. Deleted IMG Activities

21.1.4 Mass Changes (New) Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), you can set up mass-change services. You use these to change data in a number of specifications simultaneously. You set up mass-change services in Customizing for Recipe Management under Specify Mass-Change Services. You make the settings for mass status changes in Customizing for Recipe Management under Specify Status Change Profiles. See also For more information about mass status change, see SAP Library for the Recipe Management component under Mass Status Change.

21.1.5 Control of Message Output (New) Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), you can specify which messages the system writes to the application log and which message type it assigns to a message. This affects messages in the following places: -

Messages that the system displays during the checks it runs during a recipe status switch

-

Messages that the system writes to the application log for the formula

In this way, you can, for example, suppress messages that are not relevant within your business processes. Effects on Customizing You make the settings for message output in Customizing for Recipe Management under Set Up Message Output.

21.1.6 Process Parameters (Changed) Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), the editing and storage of process parameters has changed. This improves performance and makes creating process parameters easier for you. For example, you no longer need to create phrases in the Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) component or make settings in Customizing for EH&S. Effects on Existing Data To work with process parameters in the new environment, you must migrate your existing data by carrying out the transaction RCP_PPMIG. For more information about migration, see the individual migration steps in this transaction. After migration, you can no longer use any queries that contain the search criteria for the previous process parameters. Create these queries again after migration. SAP still supports the old environment for editing process parameters, in this release only. However, we recommend that you migrate your process parameters now.

Effects on Customizing You make your settings for process parameters in Recipe Management in the following new IMG activities: -

Specify Process Parameter Types

-

Specify Attributes for Process Parameters

-

Set Up Columns and Fields for Process Parameter Data

You make your settings for process parameters in Trial Management under Set Up Columns and Fields for Process Parameter Data. If you want to work with process parameters in the old environment, you can make your Customizing settings as follows: 1.

Choose the transaction SIMGH.

2.

Choose the IMG structure Process Parameters (Old IMG Activities).

3.

Choose IMG Structure -> Display.

21.1.7 Search for Specifications Using the Change Number (New) Use As of SAP ECC Enterprise Extension PLM 6.0 (EA-PLM 600), you can search for specifications that were changed with a specific change number and belong to the following specification categories: -

Formula

-

Substance

-

Packaging

Effects on Existing Data Searching for recipes that were changed with a specific change number is also still possible. Effects on Customizing To be able to use the search function for substances and packagings, you must create user exits with the following data in Customizing for the Environment, Health and Safety component under Manage User Exits: -

User exit category: SUB_QUERY

-

Function module: RMSA951_SPEC_FIND_BY_AENR

The standard system contains the new user exit FRML_AENNR with the function module FRML701_FRML_FIND_BY_AENR for formulas.
