The design for the new pavilion has drawn inspiration from a wide range of sources which reflect the excitement of seaside entertainment, forms which relate to a marine location and the attractions of time spent for pleasure:

Wide promenade walkway retained to all sides of the building

Full height glazing at entrance to showcase the attractions from afar

Extensive glazing to ground floor on the south side of the pavilion Numerous entrances allow permeability on sunny days. Coloured ‘Beachhut’ Bays provide informal seating and meeting places

Full height central hall space 18m in height (5 storeys) – gives focus to building and allows installation of large attractions

Bridge links across atrium – could be repositioned as necessary to accommodate changing activities

Stair and lifts within the atrium space provide circulation in the midst of the excitement Flexible Function rooms with moveable partitions to allow a multitude of events from Conferences to Weddings, Exhibitions to Performances

First floor / mezzanine floor around the perimeter of the building

Mid deck - accessed from function rooms providing a private terrace area

Restaurant area with full height glazing - maximises views from the pier and access onto the most westerly deck edge

Kitchens, plantrooms, toilets and other servicing and supporting accommodation positioned on the northern shady side of the building

Feature towers incorporate stairs and lifts providing access and fire escape to all floors

MAIN HALL • 18m Height giving the opportunity for up to 5 storey high attractions to be installed • 2 levels of mezzanine floor capable of future flexible arrangement • Walkways and bridge links give an exciting journey through the multi levelled space

• A flexible space with folding and moving screens to accommodate a variety of events whatever the size.
