application of the equvivalence principle: calculation of the deflection of light rays by the gravity of the sun (Cavendish 1784 and independently by von Soldner 1801)
The full value of δ = 1,75" includes also bending of space and was predicted by Einstein in 1915 and measured by Eddington et al. at an eclipse in 1919
Half of this value, namely δ/2 = 2GM/(Dc2) = 0.875 was already predicted by Cavendish in 1784 and indipendently by von Soldner in1801 based on the foregoing considerations, i.e. the equivalence principle

analysis:
the only accelerated part (always to the left) is the slowdown and speeding up to the left
the nonaccelerated parts of the flight are symmetrial with respect to the star and the rocket
acceleration and deceleration at starting and landing cancel each other

3/4 ≤1/4+1/4
und speziell für α=0°, β=30°, γ=60° ergibt dies
n0cos2(α−β) ≤ n0cos2(α−γ) + n0 sin 2(β β−γ )
n(a,b)≤ n(a,g)+ n(b,-g)
n_(α,β)=n0 sin 2(α−β)
n(α,β)=n0cos2(α−β)
