Honor Flight Event

One of our very own Mountain View Gardens residents, Blair, was chosen to attend this year’s Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. We are so very proud of him. Blair, thank you for your service to our country! Several other Honor Flight recipients from Cochise County were invited to a very special luncheon created by our culinary team. Prior to the luncheon, the Honor Flight Program volunteers gave a presentation on the Honor Flight, handed out applications, and answered all questions. Afterwards, the recipients were lead to the dining room and introduced. Everyone applauded. Soon after, soldiers from Fort Huachuca accompanied the past and present Honor Flight recipients for an amazing luncheon where wartime stories were shared. This day was amazing for everyone. Thank you to all who helped us make it so successful. Again, thank you to our veterans for serving and protecting our country.

Bernice’s Painters’ Group

Bernice’s first painters’ get-together was quite the talk of the town and to top it off, quite successful! Everyone had their own easels complete with brushes and paint to create their very own masterpiece. Job well done! Just a side note. Bernice is in total charge of this class. She is a professional as well as a creative and inspiring teacher. We love her so much and appreciate what she has brought to Mountain View Gardens to share.

First Responders Brunch

What a better way to celebrate and recognize our First Responders, but with a First Responders Brunch on a beautiful Sunday? The culinary team put together a magnificent spread of ham, fried chicken, egg frittata, country style potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans and a homemade cobbler and pumpkin pie! We appreciate everyone for coming out and supporting our amazing heroes!

Bob dropped his donation into the fireman’s boot.

Pima Air and Space Museum Fieldtrip

Our field trips are so much fun! We go everywhere and always have a great time with good food and wonderful friends. Our last adventure was to the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson. We had a blast. Half of the group toured the “graveyard of planes,” and the other half toured the museum grounds. We met for lunch and then toured a couple of more hangars. Don’t hesitate on signing up for our field trips. They are always safe and fun! If you ever have any questions about a trip or suggestions, just let Michelle or Mario know!

Noriko’s Origami Class

Whenever Noriko visits Mountain View Gardens she always brings beauty with her. She has such a kind soul and spirit with our seniors and those around her. Noriko volunteered her time to teach us the ancient Japanese art of paper folding, Origami. Noriko was so patient with everyone. We had the best group ever in the Atrium for this activity with lots of smiles and cute jokes. One month later, people are still talking about this class, even bringing down their Origami to our weekly writers’ group to show everyone. Thank you, Noriko, for all you do.
