Ashville College Harrogate It was a delight to be chosen to work with the renowned Ashville College, to update and refurbish the “heart” of their campus, including the Soothill Hall and foyer. The first phase is now complete and provides improved access and servicing as well as refurbishment of the existing hall. The next stage of the works will see the refurbishment of the theatre and new learning support areas, to be completed early this year.

Forever 21 Liverpool Construction works have now completed on site in Liverpool. The finishing touches included a large scale media screen, reminscent of Forever 21’s flagship store in New York, this was installed and launched in August 2013. The store comprises of four floors of retail, in the heart of Liverpool’s shopping district. Fit out works were completed on time ready for the store’s grand opening last October.

The Bedford Estate London Our latest appointment to convert two listed office buildings back to their original residential use extends our long standing relationship with the Bedford Estate in Bloomsbury. The scheme for 7 flats has received planning approval and listed building consent and work is due to start on site this year. At Bedford Square we are appointed to carry out further work to the Grade 1 listed office buildings that we have already previously extended and modernised.

M & S Simply Food Harrogate “This is high quality design… Good architecture…. high quality contemporary form, …will be visually attractive as a result of good architecture and appropriate landscaping……positively contribute to raising the standard of design more generally in the area……” Just a few extracts from Harrogate Borough Council’s Conservation and Design Team’s report on DLG’s proposals for this new M&S Simply Food in Harrogate. Currently under construction, due to be completed this summer, this new build food store is contemporary in design yet sympathetic to the surrounding architecture with appropriate landscaping. The visually attractive design will regenerate the local area and will provide a welcome amenity for local residents.

Wentworth Street Malton Producing a sensitive yet functional design for a mixed-use retail scheme in the historic North Yorkshire town of Malton has proved challenging, however we have now re-submitted updated plans for approval. This major new amenity for the people of Malton will consist of a foodstore, offices, retail unit and a restaurant or cultural use unit with an associated public square, landscaping and car parking.

Brooksby Melton College Melton Mowbray Following our recent success at Derby College we have been appointed to design a catering and hospitality college building for Brooksby Melton College. The facility will further expand the college’s existing vocational career offer in the town centre. The building is sited in the heart of Melton and it is hoped that the modern form will soon become a landmark gateway building for the town centre. The project is planned to start on site in spring this year.

Quarry Hill Leeds The mixed-use Quarry Hill scheme in Leeds originally received planning approval in 2005 but we have recently updated the proposals in line with current planning policy. Once completed, the scheme will form part of the ‘Leeds Cultural Quarter’ and could host a variety of uses including residential, offices, arts and education, a multi storey car park, leisure and retail.

Derby College Ilkeston Derby College at Ilkeston was successfully completed on programme before christmas 2013. The college will provide a full range of facilities including training in construction and fabrication, along with hair and beauty courses. The college will act as a major catalyst for regenerating the town centre with new housing and retail planned upon the existing campus site (see below).

Housing & Supermarket Ilkeston Following on from Derby College in Ilkeston, we will be starting on site early this year with a new supermarket on the former college site in central Ilkeston near Derby. The supermarket will provide a welcome facility and new jobs for local residents. Further development of the site in the future will provide new housing which will provide much needed new family accommodation.

Derwent House Sheffield Continuing DLG’s work in office refurbishment the works to Derwent House have recently been completed on site. The works included refurbishment of the lobbies, corridors, the main entrance and reception area, three vacant office floors and a re-branding of the office building in the centre of Sheffield.
