How to update your ISS web profile Personal Metis is the online tool for you to update your ISS web profile. You will find Personal Metis at http://www.iss.nl/profile/ In this short user guide you will learn how to: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

1: Login To login you need a username and password which was emailed to you. If you no longer have these details please contact iliad ([email protected]) To open your profile go to: Profile => Open => ISS

2: How to add Personal Details Under the option Basic Information – Personal, you can change or show/hide several fields. 1. You can add your First Name and a link to your personal homepage or LinkedIn profile. 2. You can add/edit your Work Address Information, by editing the fields under the heading Personal Address:

3. You can hide certain information from your profile by unticking the Show

icon. 4. You can upload a new photo from your PC to your profile via the CHOOSE FILE button. Save before closing. If you have updated the information in your profile it can be directly published on your web profile if you go to: Profile => Publish to Web

2.1: Professional Experience Under the option Professional Experience you can override the standard function given to your profile by the HR system. With an ‘Other Position’ you can change your function title, start date, room number etc.

3: How to add/update your Research Expertise? To add text about your research or expertise on your profile, click on Research and then on General expertise. Add or Update the text and save.

This text can be formatted, i.e you can add line breaks, text in bold or italic, bullets and links. You will need to use some simple code (tags) to do this. Function Line break (hard return) Double line break (white line) Bold text Italic text Link Bullet list

Under the Research option you also have the option to hide your SG and role from your profile.

4: How to add a CV your Profile? By default this is not possible, but we can (re)use the Personal Homepage field for your CV. Please send your CV to [email protected] and we will create a shortcut to your CV which we will add to your profile.

5: How to select Publications for your Profile? Your publications are registered in Metis and show up on your profile. Instructions on how to add publications to Metis are at www.iss.nl/metisguide 5.1 ‘Don’t show’ certain publications By default all your publications that are registered in Metis will show on your personal profile, sorted by type of material. You may want certain publications not to show on your web profile. You can do this by going to the List of Results and uncheck the box under ‘Show’ and your publication will not show up at your profile.

5.2 Key Publications To highlight your key publications so that they show at the top of your publication list click on List of Results and then select the publications you want to be key publications under ‘Key’ (right side of the screen) and save.

6. How to add/update your Recognitions? On your web profile you can also show your recognitions. The recognitions contain editorial positions and organizational memberships. 6.1 Editorial Positions To add/change your editorial positions go to recognitions and click ‘Editorial positions’. Enter the first letter of the journal you want to register.

A window will appear in which you can enter the details of your editorial position. Journal: This the journal to which the editorial position refers to. Role: What kind of editorial position you have. Start date, End date: start and end date of the period in which the editorial position is enacted. Additional information: more specific details about your editorial position.

When you have completed all the fields click on add to confirm.

Now your editorial position is placed in the screen ‘Editorial Positions’. 6.2 Organizational Memberships To add/change your organizational memberships click on ‘Organizational memberships’. Then you follow the same routine as with the editorial positions. 6.3 My Journal / Organization is not included in the list. 7: How to publish it all on the website? Once you have updated the information in your profile go to: Profile => Publish to Web Your changes will be visible on your web profile.
