ADULT SECONDARY CREDENTIAL OPTIONS: (Adult High School Diploma Program or the High School Equivalency Program, e.g. GED).

ADULT H.S. DIPLOMA classes offer students 18 years and older the opportunity to earn a high school diploma sanctioned by the Board of Education of Catawba or Alexander Co Center for Education, Taylorsville (828) 632-8221 for more information or to sign up for an orientation. THE HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY PROGRAM (such as GED) focuses on developing the academic skills needed to earn High School Equivalency through an approved exam (ex: the GED exam). Catawba Valley Community College offers classes in a variety of locations and online. Classes are FREE; however, there is a cost for the GED exam at the end. Scholarship funds may be available to those with demonstrated financial need. Minor students (ages 16 & 17) require written permission from a parent/guardian and may also require a superintendent’s signature. Sewing-T-shirt Quilting

This class will teach the student how to prepare and sew T-shirts into a lightweight quilt. You will need to bring 12 to 20 of your own shirts. All that will be needed for the first night will be the shirts and stabilizer. Also needed will be lightweight stabilizer, a coordinating fabric for borders, batting and backing for the quilt.
