Extremely easy operation Big graphic screen 20 characters x 8 lines big size graphic display is adopted. The graphic display remarkably increases the ease of operation. The soft key designations are displayed with large characters allowing simple, easy and comfortable instrument operation every time.

Special Functions A total of 9 Special functions, Distance stakeout, RDM, Coordinates, Offset shots, Coord. stakeout, REM, Resection, Data storage, Memory management are incorporated in the instrument.
Internal Memory A total of 5,000 points with both Survey data and Coordinate data combined can be stored. End users can freely allocate the memory capacity according to their needs.
Recharger with a refreshing function The battery recharger provided as an accessory includes a refreshing function which lets the battery recover from the "memory effect"(*) that results in the usage time of the battery being gradually reduced as the battery is used.
Remote Control Alpha Keyboard (Optional accessory) Entering descriptions faster and easier is now available with the MU72 infrared remote control. This 32 keys, no cable, small and lightweight controller for your PCS-325 is the ultimate in convenience and speed. (MU72 is not used with PCS-315/335.)
Automatic atmospheric sensor The built-in automatic atmospheric sensor measures the temperature and pressure in real time, and initiates ppm correction. Thus, the user no longer needs to bother with inputting these data, saving both time and trouble. (Accuracy: Approx.10 ppm)
Compact battery The palm-sized, compact battery weighs a mere 155g. Two battery packs are provided as a standard feature, and each battery lasts approximately 2.5 hours when using continuous measurement. Measurement can thus be carried out for 5 hours without interruption. (2 battery packs : for PCS-325 only)
Water protection structure
Code Name 007
MC04 Charger
* The"memory effect" Ni-Cd batteries can be used again and again by recharging them, but if the battery is repeatedly recharged before the battery is fully discharged, a phenomenon called the "memory effect" causes the time that the battery can be used after recharging to become shorter and shorter. When a Ni-Cd battery is refreshed, its voltage is restored and the usage time returns to the original value. Refreshing the battery once every five times it is recharged effectively maintain the full usage time.
This enables all of the functions, special measurements, as well as changes to initial settings such as prism constants and the minimum angle display, to be loaded simply using the code number "007".
The tilt sensor The PCS-325 incorporates 2 axis tilt sensor, and the PCS-315/335 1 axis sensor.
Graphic Help Pushing the [HELP] key while executing the Special functions displays the general drawing of the Special functions with an explanation as a Help message.
The water protection class is JIS class 4. The rain cannot come into the inside of the instrument in unexpected rainfall , and so you can operate it free from care. The instrument can be operated easily and lightly as usual under the severe worksite.
Special Functions of PCS-300 series
Data Storage With Data storage measurement, the data of JOB NAME, STATION POINT and SURVEY results can be stored in the internal memory of the instrument.
Station P. (X,Y,Z)
RDM With RDM measurement, the horizontal distance, slope distance, difference in height and percentage of slope between the reference point and the observation point are measured. The distance between one observation point and another one is measured as well.

Coordinates Any desired target Coordinates can be determined and stored by setting the station point as an original point and inputting the backsight Coordinate in Coordinate measurement. The Coordinates values from tne original Coordinates point can be determined by the station Coordinates input even if the station point is not set as an original point. Coordinates values input can be omitted by designating the station point No. whenever the station Coordinates are stored in the internal memory.
Backsight P. (X,Y, Z) Z

Station P. (X,Y,Z)

Offset shots Offset shots is used when the Prism cannot be positioned because of an obstacle in the way. With this type of measurement, the Target Coordinates are measured indirectly. Coordinates values input can be omitted by designating the Station point number whenever the Station coordinates are stored in the internal memory.

Distance Stakeout With Distance Stakeout measurement, the Deviation between the input design values (specified distance) and the distance to the prism is displayed, making it easier to stake a point.

REM With REM measurement, a Prism (reference point) is set directly below the place to be measured, and by measuring the Prism, the height to the Target object can be measured. This makes it easy to determine the heights of electric power lines, bridge suspension cables, and other large items used in construction.
Height
Coordinates stakeout With Coordinates stakeout measurement, the Staking point coordinates can be staked out in 3 dimensions based on the known Station point coordinates and Backsight point coordinates or Backsight point azimuth . The horizontal angle, horizontal distance and vertical distance to the Staking point are automatically calculated as design values, and the differences between the measured values and design values are displayed as deviations. When the coordinate values of the station point, backsight point and Staking point are recorded in the internal memory, designation of each measured point number makes it possible to omit the coordinates value input each time. ? ? ? ?W.?eW.e? ?7H?e7He? Resection With Resection measurement, 2 or 3 known points are measured in order to determine the Coordinate of the station point. Each Coordinate input can be omitted by designating each point number when the Coordinate values of point A, B and C are stored in an internal memory.
