Start the function „Send Photo-Fax“ and take a picture of the document you want to fax. You get best results with the right lighting.

The app converts the photo into a black/white fax format and displays the fax-ready document.

You can now send the document as fax, as a pdf attachment per email or add more pages to the document. In this example, we have clicked on the “Add to Document” button and taken another photo to create a multi-page fax document.

To send now this document, tap on the Action button and select “Send as fax”. You can also send it per email as a pdf attachment or save it in the App Documents directory for future use. You can of course select photos from your photo album.

Just a text fax… Sending a friend or a client an important message is really easy with the Customer Center app. Start the function “Send Text-Fax” and just type your message and enter a fax number (with the ‘+’ you can select a recipient from your contacts). Important: Always enter the country code when entering a fax number, deleting internal dial codes (such as ‘0’). For example: A german fax number 040-123456 have to be entered as +4940123456.

Faxing saved documents You can upload every document of type PDF, DOC/DOCX, XLS/ XLSX, TXT directly to the App Documents directory and send them as a fax. If you have connected a cloud server such as Dropbox or Google Drive (see Settings) it will be shown as a directory and clicking on it will change to the corresponding cloud server.

You can also send documents from your email client. Just tap and hold your email attachment and select “Open with Fax.de Customercenter” app.

Receiving faxes By registration on the website www.pc-fax.com (only with tariff Light or Fine) you can decide whether you want to use the service for receiving faxes as well. Your fax number will be a local landline number if at all possible. You can also create a fax number in the app later. If you have registered directly in the app, your account is a PrePaid account and you have to buy a fax number if you want to receive faxes.

You can receive up to sixty faxes at a time, sent either to your email as pdf files or shown directly in the app under “Faxinbox” view. All incoming faxes are instantly shown under the “Faxinbox” tab. You can even choose a sound that plays when you receive a fax.

If you select a fax on the list, the received document will be displayed. The document can be saved in the App Documents directory, sent via email as a pdf attachment, deleted or marked as a spam.

If the fax will be marked as spam, all faxes from this sender will be no longer displayed. Please be aware that ALL faxes from this sender will go to the spam folder. If you mark a fax that has no listed sender, then normal faxes can also be affected. You can of course remove those faxes from the spam list whenever you want.

Sending SMS With this function can even your iPod (with WiFi) send SMS without any problems. You can send a SMS by directly typing it or by choosing a predefined text document. If you enter a mobile number, that mobile phone will receive the SMS. If you enter a landline number, the recipient will receive a voice mail.

The interesting option is scheduling SMS. This way you can put it e.g. congratulations in advance – they will not be sent by the scheduled date.

Sending a real post letters You can send letters by regular mail directly from your mobile device with the Customer Center. The letters will be printed out in our printing center, folded, placed in envelopes, franked, and sent to the recipient by regular mail. Important: This function can only be used for German recipients. Your FAX.de account must have a balance sufficient to cover the postage costs.

You can define a document as a stationary, i.e. an empty page with your letterhead which should be set up in the settings before your write your letter. You have to go then to the app settings, activate it and select a document (it has to be already stored in the app or in the cloud storage).

To create a letter tap on the “Create Letter” button and enter or select from the Contacts the recipient.

In the next step enter your letter message in the window and tap the Next button. Your ready letter will be shown and you can send it now as a letter, or via email as pdf attachment or save it in the App Documents directory for future use.

On the iPad you can create a letter with several pages. You must tap the address box to specify a recipient. After the address has been entered, it will be placed on the correct position.

Now you can tap on the [Text] token to start typing your letter message.

The following statuses are possible: • In Progress - The fax was transferred to the server but has not yet been sent • Sent - The fax was sent • Busy - We repeatedly attempted to establish a connection after 3, 5, and 10 minutes, but the line was busy every time • No answer - The other party did not answer the call • Voice - Unable to establish a fax connection. Either the fax machines are incompatible or the other party is not a fax machine • No service - The dial up failed at the ISDN level. No connection can be made at this number • Send-Fail - An ongoing fax transmission was aborted due to an error (communication disturbance, no paper, ...)

Account The "Account" display shows your current account balance at FAX.de, which you can review here and replenish, if necessary. Our system prepares this account balance at intervals. Therefore, a document that has just been sent may not immediately appear in the account balance.

Profile You can change here your personal information like name, address etc.

Settings You can here enter your credentials in the Account-Nr. and Password. You should get those data as soon as you create an account by PCFAX.com. Now tap on the “Save” button.

In the account settings you can choose different defaults for sending fax and SMS. You can, for instance, automatically forward incoming faxes to your email address, suppress the fax header etc. You can change here also your password.

Transferring documents to your device You can easily upload documents into the app by using iTunes. Just connect your device to your computer, run iTunes and choose your iPhone, iPod or iPad. Then click on the tab “Apps” and select Customer Center app. Now you can upload all supported documents. We offer another comfortable way to upload documents to the app. You have to go to the app settings and switch on the File server option (your device must be connected via WiFi to your local network). You should see the IP address which you have to enter in your browser on the computer. The site appears where you can upload your documents. You can also use documents from Dropbox or Google Drive.
