Red, White, & News!

Halloween Fundraiser On Monday October 17, RLBMS students attended an assembly in the gym, to try to stick Mrs. Radcliff and Mrs. Snider to the wall with duct tape. Mrs. Snider sponsors Young Leaders of America, which collected the bucks for lengths of duct tape. After that excitement, the students learned about another fundraiser. The upcoming fundraiser for the school will raise money for the people affected by the flooding last summer in Clay County. In the cafeteria, the office assistants have placed thermometers around the room. These will show how much money each grade level has collected. When a grade level is able to collect over 100 dollars, those students will be able to dress up in costumes on the day of Halloween.

Mrs. Snider looked angelic as she is taped to the wall during the Stuck for a Buck fundraiser.

At left: Can you imagine a middle school principal letting herself be taped to a wall? Mr. Radcliff roused the crowd of students, as Mrs. Radcliff endured the humiliation. At right: The eighth grade thermometer is ready to be colored in, showing the amount of dollars raised to help flood victims in southern West Virginia.

Congratulations to Kayleigh Paxson for correctly answering last week’s question. As seen on a bulletin board, Patriots are bursting with PRIDE!

“Ask Phoebe” Dear Phoebe, How can you get along with someone you don`t like and they say mean things to you? From, Hurt Feelings Dear Hurt Feelings, I have been in your shoes before and it is not pleasant. My advice to you is to kill them with kindness. Hopefully they will realize what a great individual you are! Sincerely, Phoebe

If you know the answer, then write it and your name on a piece of paper and put it in the Around the School box at the library circulation desk. One correct answer will be chosen. We may print that student’s picture in the next issue, and the student will win a prize.
