Jazz Hiring Standards and Qualifications Jazz Normal hiring minimums are:    

1500 hours Total Time ATPL 500 Multi IFR Aviation College/University (preferred)

Average new pilots have 2200 hours TT Canadian Aviation Regulations allow for First Officers in airline operations with:  250 hours and  ATPL exams written

Preferential Hiring below minimum standards for Jazz Aviation Pathways Program affiliate schools

Jazz Aviation Pathways Program - Background Jazz Award In 2007 Jazz saw a need to engage the Canadian aviation college community through the Jazz Award Program Purpose  Develop multiple sources of quality trained pilots  Assist in advancing enrollment in pilot training programs  Encourage young people to become a professional pilot as a career  Provide support to the training organizations on industry best practices Format  “Jazz Award Week,” where top students from six colleges were given industry briefings, pilot interview and simulator evaluation  Successful candidates were offered first officer positions at Jazz Quality Assurance  Maintain extensive new hire background data

Jazz Aviation Pathways Program - Background Seneca Jazz Cadet Program In 2012 Seneca College approached Jazz with a concept  Increase the number of direct entry pilots  Motivate more students to excel  Allow Jazz to get a closer look at students in final year before hiring

Format  Third year students apply to become Jazz Cadets  Evaluation includes a standard Jazz Pilot interview.  Successful applicants are  Given a Jazz Cadet uniform  Continually evaluated on professionalism, discipline, flight and academic performance during their fourth year  Given a Jazz simulator evaluation if Jazz standards are maintained  Successful Cadets are offered first officer positions

Quality Assurance  Monthly Jazz/Seneca meetings held to monitor progress  Maintain extensive new hire background data  AABI Accreditation 5

Jazz Aviation Pathways Program Jazz anticipates hiring between 150-200 pilots annually As an Air Canada Express carrier, we want to align with Air Canada hiring practices In 2015, the decision was made to enhance and rebrand Jazz’s college programs      

Develop additional sources of quality trained pilots to meet demand Continue advancing enrollment in pilot training programs Encourage young people to become professional pilots as a career Provide support to the training organizations on industry best practices Provide scholarships to assist students Promote the Jazz professionalism brand

Jazz Aviation Pathways Program (Jazz APP)  Collaboration on training, curriculum and industry best practices • Includes a Jazz SMS/QA Onsite review

 Providing scholarship opportunities for students • Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism • Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism and Diversity • $3,000 each annually

 The opportunity for top-performing graduates to transition to first officer positions at Jazz  Encourage industry pathways

Jazz Aviation Pathways Program Pathway Agreement for Seneca College Flight Instructors  Extends the Jazz Aviation Pathways Program to current and future Seneca Flight Instructors that are employed by Seneca.  Acts as a direct career path for individuals that qualify for the program to employment with Jazz as a first officer.  Terms:  Graduate of the Seneca School of Aviation Technology Program.  Currently employed by Seneca as Seneca Flight Instructor  Employed by Seneca as Seneca Flight Instructors for a minimum period of 18 months  Recommended for the Jazz APP by Seneca  Minimum experience requirement of approximately 1000 hours of flight experience and 250 hours of multi-engine time.
