Biotech Invest Series In 2016 AusBiotech will be running a Global Investment Event Series, with events taking place in Europe, Asia, the US and Australia. Technology Transfer Summit (TTS) 12 & 13 April, Brisbane TTS Australia is one chapter of a global initiative; with other summits in Europe and North America. The global initiative has been the original and leading international meeting for the biotech sector – including academia, licensing, partnering & technology transfer professionals. Designed to help build expertise and relationships that enable successful tech transfer officers sign deals and licensing agreements, the summits are pillars of this key international initiative and unite the community of the leading technology transfer professionals, licensing, IP and early stage biotech innovation and venture professionals worldwide. The summit is where innovators will come to meet and build relationships. The two-day program will facilitate open discussions and debates on best practices, lessons learned and key issues such as negotiations, strategic industry-research collaborations, IP and commercial negotiation. Universities, research institutes and science parks will have the opportunity to meet with senior international industry licensing and business development executives, investors, biotech sector leaders, IP experts and entrepreneurs. Industry licensing executives, external R&D directors, business development managers and biotech CEOs seeking to fill pipelines, the summit will be an ideal source of deal-flow from leading universities and research institutes across Australia.

AusMedtech 2016 10 & 11 May 2016, Adelaide AusMedtech is Australia's premier medical technology conference for medtech executives, providing business partnering opportunities for decision-makers. It brings together key stakeholders of the Australian and international medical devices and diagnostics sector to discuss the major factors in global medtech success. The conference will provide information to help you plot your course to global success, targeting key commercial issues such as export opportunities, finance and investment, hot technologies and updates in the fields of IP, regulatory approvals, health economics and reimbursement and sales networks. AusMedtech 2016 will provide real information that participants can use in their businesses, with the opportunity to come together and learn from colleagues who share the challenges associated with this sector. The AusMedtech conference is held annually by AusMedtech, part of AusBiotech, Australia’s biotechnology industry organisation. AusMedtech is the national industry group that represents the medical devices and diagnostics industry sector.

Ag & Foodtech Symposium 2 & 3 August, Brisbane Previously run in conjunction with AusBiotech’s national Symposium, AusBiotech’s Ag & Foodtech Symposium will be a stand-alone event in 2016 at the Stamford Plaza Brisbane, on 2 & 3 August. The symposium will celebrate innovation in the agriculture and food industries, exploring recent advances in technology, regulation, communication and investment. Symposium sessions will focus on improving the sector’s capacity to communicate the benefits of new technologies and to attract early-stage and venturecapital investment. We will explore a range of technological advances and the intersection between big data and biotechnology. Bringing together industry, researchers and investors the Ag & Foodtech Symposium will highlight areas that industry needs to address in order to accelerate technology translation and the adoption of advanced agricultural and food biotechnology innovations.

International BioFest 24 – 27 October 2016 International BioFest 2016 will be the largest-ever gathering in Australian life sciences, with three major conferences coming together in one week in one place as one integrated network. International BioFest 2016 is expected to attract over 2,500 delegates to attend the academic, industry and investor events in Melbourne from 24 – 27 October 2016. The event will be a celebration of Australian and international life sciences and highlight Melbourne as one of the world’s great biotech hubs.
