Blowing Painting

Materials: Straws, liquid paint, construction paper Group Age: 4+ Procedure: A small amount of liquid paint is put on top of the construction paper and the paint is blown up with a straw. A different paint color is added and the same procedure is repeated. 3

Blot painting

Materials: tempera paint, paper, brush. Group Age: 3+ Procedure: A piece of construction paper is folded in half then opened and some tempera paint, one or many colors are added in one size of the paper. The paper is folded where I was folded before and topped to spread the paint in between the paper. The paper is opened and a beautiful design is obtained. 4

Car painting

Materials: Toy car, tempera paint, and construction paper Age group: 2+ Procedure: Put paint to the tires of a small toy car, and then drive the car on top of the construction paper. Use a different color and repeat the same steps. 5

Shaving cream painting

Materials: shaving cream, paint, paper, brush Age Group: 2+ Procedure: Put some shaving cream in a container, add some tempera paint. Then, in a piece of paper and using a brush paint or do your own design. Use your imagination! 6

Marble painting

Materials: marbles, tempera colors, construction paper, and shoe box. Age Group: Age: 3+ Procedure: Put the construction paper inside the shoe box and using some different sizes marbles, add some tempera paint, then, shake the box or move from side to side to form some patterns. 7

String painting

Materials: yarn, tempera paint, paper. Age group: 4+ Procedure: Put some tempera paint in a container, dip some different thick yarn into the paint and start painting with the yard. Be creative! 8

Cotton swab painting

Materials: Q-tips, tempera paint, paper. Age group: 3+ Procedure: Pour some paint into a container and using the Qtips as a brush, paint into the paper. Different paint color can be used. 9

Shaving cream print

Materials: shaving cream, paint, brush, paper, tray. Age group: 4 + Procedure: In a container put some shaving cream, add some liquid paint and then with a brush cover a piece of paper. Write or draw something and then cover it with another piece of paper. Rubbed and take the paper apart. A beautiful design will be on the clean paper. 11

Shapes print

Materials: tempera paint, different shapes, paper. Age group: 3+ Procedure: Dip some shapes in tempera paint and print them in a piece of paper. Use different shapes and different paint colors. 12

Potato masher print

Materials: potato masher, tempera paint, paper. Age Group: 3+ Procedure: Dip a potato masher into tempera paint and make prints on a piece of paper. Use different paint colors. 13

Leaves print

Materials: leaves, tempera paint, paper. Age group: 3+ Procedure: Use different leaves shapes and sizes and dip them in paint, then print them on a piece of paper. Let children use different paint colors. 14

Hand print

Materials: tempera paint, brush, and paper. Age group: 2+ Procedure: Let children use their favorite color or a combination of color and then, using a brush, paint their hands, one at a time and print their hands on a piece of paper. This is good Mother’s Day present! 15

Letter/number print

Materials: letters/numbers cookie cutters, paint, paper. Age group: 3+ Procedure: Dip letter and numbers in different paint colors and print them in a piece of paper. This is a good way for children to learn letters and numbers. 16

Feathers collage

Materials: feathers, paper, glue. Age Group: 2+ Procedure: Let children use different shapes and color feathers and using either stick or liquid glue, they can use their imagination to decorate (glue the feathers) a piece of paper. 18

Shapes collage

Materials: different sizes & colors shapes, glue, paper, scissors. Age group: 2 ½ + Procedure: Using rubber shapes of different size and colors, children can glue them on a piece of paper.

Fabric collage

Materials: different sizes, shapes, & texture fabric, glue, paper. Age Group: 2 ½ + Procedure: Ask the children to cut different texture fabric and let them glue them to decorate a paper. 20

Macaroni collage

Materials: Different types of macaroni, glue, paper. Age group: 2 ½ + Procedure: Give to children different types of macaroni already pre-painted and let them glue on a piece of construction paper. 21

Yarn collage

Materials: different colors yarn, glue, paper. Age group: 3+ Procedure: Give the children different colors and texture yarn and let them cut pieces of different sizes and ask them to glue them to create a collage.

Tissue paper collage

Materials: different colors and shapes tissue papers, paper, glue. Age group: 3+ Procedure: Give the children different color tissue papers and ask them to ripe them off to create different sizes pieces. Then, let them glue the pieces in a piece of construction paper. 23

Leaves/nature collage

Materials: variety of nature materials (leaves, sticks, etc.), glue, paper. Age group: 2 ½ + Procedure: Use different shapes and color leaves, sticks, flowers and arranged them in a piece of paper. 24
