Volumetric cups rest in a holder plate. Each cup holds the precise quantity necessary to equal the correct net weight of product to be packed. As the plate rotates, each cup passes beneath the feed hopper and is filled.

Load 1. First cup receives fill from the feed hopper.

Index 1. First cup levels and moves to the second stop in the rotation cycle. 2. Second cup receives fill from the feed hopper.

The plate continues its rotation, and when the full cup arrives at the fill spout, the product is dropped through to container below. Each cup is filled and emptied in a smooth, rhythmic cycle.

.. First cup releases its load to container below. 2. Second cup, now filled and leveled, rotates to the second stop in the cycle. 3. Third cup receives fill from the feed hopper.

Index 1. Empty first cup rev& 3 to third stop in the cycle. 2. Second cup releases its load to container below. 3. Third cup, now filled and leveled, moves to the second stop in the cycle. 4. Fourth cup receives fill from the feed hopper.

Standard cup and plate discharge. Full cup is evenly leveled by brush or blade and rotated over drop chute. Positive indexing is by Geneva drive—no misalignment that creates ledges which trap material. Clean, 100% discharge.

2

Optional cup trapdoor discharge. (patent #3,447,677). Useful on Spee-Dee fillers for soft, fragile or abrasive products and for difficult materials that tend to glaze and leave a residue that builds up. Standard design for use on automatic cartoners.

Standard Spee-Dee fillers can be used to fill free or semi free-flowing dry products in volumes from less than 1/2 cubic inch to over 2,000 cubic inches; in weights from a few grams to over 50 pounds. Interchangeable and adjustable cups in * sizes and capacities to match your application are furnished.

Four types of optional agitators are used to stir semi free-flowing products and prevent packing or bridging of products during fill.

EA

Cup adjustments are completed by turning a screw

le that raises and lowers bottom and cup holder plate. Releasing Bayonet Lock allows the bottom and cup holder plates to be lowered out of position for cleaning or cup exchange. Raising returns cups to original position without disturbing fine volume adjustment. Cup adjustment or exchange takes only moments.

Spee-Dee fillers are used to fill bags, cartons, cans — any flexible or rigid container. Models are available with semi-automatic or full automatic equipment to deliver, position, and remove containers. Geneva drive limits cup travel time to a minimum while allowing the cups maximum time to pause beneath the hopper for complete filling and over the discharge opening for bag or container handling. Speeds of 6 to 48 fills per minute standard. Higher speeds to 100 fills or more per minute are possible by changing the motor drive. Filling speed depends upon the type and amount of product, operator proficiency, and the type of container. For large volumes, the operator can set the variable speed drive for a slower pace. Smaller volumes let the operator set the speed drive for faster filling. Foot switch for motor control is available. Operator releases foot pressure to stop filler. Complete unit is readily portable. Mounts on steel base plate for bench use or on floor stand with optional casters. Hopper, cups, and plates are easily lifted for cleaning and can be replaced without changing volume adjustment. Cup plates, cups, spouts, and feed hoppers are made of plain, coated or plated aluminum or stainless steel, depending on specifications. Polished aluminum gear box is dust and moisture proof. Dust covers and hoods, bag bottom openers, foot switch, automatic container conveyors, gas pack device, product settlers, electric indexing, enclosed stands, level controls, special hoppers, and other accessory equipment can be provided.

CH & CHE Series: "Big Job" Fillers

SPEE-DEE STANDARD MODELS

designed for fast, accurate measuring of heavy, dense, semi-free flowing products as well as other free flowing products. Standard features include: 3.5 cubic foot stainless steel hopper, extra heavy-duty locked Geneva indexing drive, 17" plates and 6" diameter volume cups. The standard Spee-Dee CH is

SPEE-DEE standard models range in speeds from manual filling to filling head speeds of over a hundred per minute and volume levels from 1/2 cubic inch to over 800 cubic inches. This translates into weights of a few grams to 25 lbs. with filling capabilities servicing an almost endless variety of dry products — quickly, accurately and efficiently. Standard models feature four or six cup indexing with various diameter ranges, single or twin hoppers, light or heavy duty drive components and variable speed drive or electric indexing.

Geneva Drive design minimizes cup travel time and maximizes cup time beneath the feed hopper and over the discharge spout. Combine this with our volume cup leveling system and you can be assured of smooth, accurate, quiet filling with exact uniformity and reliability. With the CH-6 you can run volumes from 68 to 700 cubic inches (2 to 25 lbs./1-12 kg.) Filling speeds from 15 to 30 or more per minute. Electric indexing "E" models fill up to 60 per minute. Products include popped pop corn, potting soil, kitty litter, pet food, rice, detergents and wild bird seed. CH & CHE high-speed, heavy-duty models are engineered to handle those "big" filling jobs. Contact parts may be teflon or hard anodized for corrosion and wear resistance if desired.

CB & CBE Series Fillers The Spee-Dee CB Series has the same

measuring plates, cups and hoppers as the BR Series. C Series fillers can take on higher capacity jobs because they operate with an extra heavy-duty compact Geneva drive, assuring long wear and durability. With the CB 4-cup machine the filling speed capabilities increase to 80 per minute.

BR Series The standard Spee-Dee BR machine features a full set of interchangeable volume cups and plates, plus, a 4-cup, medium-duty indexing drive with variable speed control, which allows continuous cycle filling for hand held containers at speeds of 5 to 35 per minute. The B size plates hold cup sizes of up to 41/2" in diameter, measuring volumes from /2 cubic inch or less to 200 cubic inches. Applications for the BR machines include caramel corn, sunflower seeds, nuts, spices and candy

Models are also available with a variable speed drive which allows for filling speed adjustments by turning a screw. Adding the electric indexing, the CBE models will interface as a filling head with a form, fill & seal machine, cartoner, and can or bottle filler. Insertstyle plates allow cup diameter changes without machine disassembly. Applications for the CB series include seeds, popcorn, elbow macaroni, detergents, and individually quick frozen (I0F) products.
